HONDA MB5 BLACK CLASSIC 1982 MB50C The MB50 was a Honda motorcycle known as the MB5 in the US, produced from 1979 into the late 1980s. Sales ended in 1981 in the UK and 1982 in the US (the only year imported), but sales continued in other European countries until 1988. The MB5 was a very light motorcycle, filling a similar transportation role to a motorscooter, though styled like a sport bike. Top speed was in excess!! of 50 MPH from a 50 cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine, producing 6.7 HP and mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The MB5 also had several features normally found on bigger bikes: a speedometer, a tachometer (with a redline of 10,500 rpm), front disc brake, and Honda's Comstar wheels. The MB was the road oriented version of the Honda MT50. The saddle provided space for a passenger, but the bike would have difficulty carrying more than one rider. The MB-5 was short-lived in the U.S., Honda only imported in 1982, it was more popular in Europe. GO little MB5 !! GO I purchased this bike new in 1982 while in High School. I rode it for about 1 year putting close to 1,500 miles on it. A fews of friends purchased one also and we created the MB5 BIKER RODE HOGS lol. We had great times on these little MB5's I than bought a Honda Interceptor and put the little MB away. The Bike is being sold As-is I have not tried to start, rear wheel moves with out force when not in gear. Rear wheel turns motor when in gear. Front wheel doesn't move. Some rust as you can see from the pictures. Everything is oon the bike except a missing side mirror...? have no idea where it is. The bike did sit out in the weather for awhile, shed leaked on it. This is why it has some rust. Bike was never abused and the tires and motor looks great, tires are probably NG though. Low Low Miles. When I bought the bike in 1982 New Jersey didn't require titles for " Mopeds " which is what some considered the MB5 I mentioned I rode it for only one year. I just found out today, July 12,2011 that New Jersey changed the titling in 1983 but, since I wasn't riding the MB5 I never got a title. I can get a title but, it could take 4 to 6 weeks Motor Vehicle said. New Jersey Motor Vehicle is sending me the paper work. title.
