Vehicle Detail
I purchased this car a little over a year ago with intentions of making it a nice driver. Originally from New Jersey, it has spent the last 10-15 years in the Pacific Northwest basically in a barn. It is a 1974 Camaro Type LT with a vinyl top and 350/350 combo. I immediately replaced the battery, cables, alternator, belts, starter, radiator, water pump, thermostat, various hoses, timing chain and timing cover gasket, valve cover gaskets, intake, carburetor, distributor, fuel pump, master cylinder, booster, front rotors, calipers, pads, wheel bearings, rear drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, original rally wheels with chrome steel caps and replaced the tires. It was my daily driver for a few months, but a few things kept me from continued driving. The engine began to smoke. Either the valve seals or rings are shot, and it burns oil. Either one, the engine should be rebuilt and is not ok to operate. I pulled the intake, carb, distributor, wires, and battery for another project. They were not original to the car, and since the engine is not in good running condition, I felt I shouldn't leave those parts on the car. The exhaust is also shot and needs replaced. The muffler has a large hole in it and the exhaust tubing is original and rusted. The weaterstripping is shot, mainly in the rear window and trunk. There is a small amount of rust in the trunk and rear driver's side floor because of this. The last time the car was running, the heater core blew. I removed the carpet after that happened. Overall, the body is in decent shape. The previous owner "installed" new fenders and a fiberglass cowl hood. They are not completely bolted onto the car, but “good enough” to drive. I have purchased a front end bolt and fastener kit, but have not installed yet. The exterior trim was removed before I owned the car and is not with the car. Also, the rear quarter panels and rear pan under the rear bumper have rust and need replaced. The doors have rust (scaly surface rust, no holes) where the trim used to be. The interior is in decent shape and is mostly (if not all) there. Overall, this is a good starter project, especially if your fortee is body work/rust repair! Race car? Driver? Crate engine+bodywork+paint+interior kit = sweet ride! I would like to keep the car, but I am moving to start a new job and can't take the car with me. I have described the car as best as I can, and if you have questions or would like additional pictures, I’d be happy to help. Please ask any questions yo may have before bidding. No Reserve!!! Thank you and good luck.
