Up for auction is a 1986 Chevrolet box van. This is a former government owned fleet maintained vehicle. It has a 6.2L naturally aspirated diesel engine with a Turbo 400 3 speed automatic transmission and a 3.76 rear end. The van has 86000 original miles. It has a class 3 receiver hitch and a new set of load range E Firestone Transforce HT radials. The van is presently set up for hauling motorcycles for vintage racing. It has a raised floor to allow for storage underneath and a partition to separate the box from the cabin. It has comfortably hauled four bikes and riders plus all gear. The cabin has two plush captains chairs in the front and a cushioned bench in the rear for sleeping or sitting. It has carpet insulated floors and walls and more storage above and below the bench seat. This is a very solid and spacious bike hauler, but with the partition removed would be a large hauler or work van with a 10' long by 6' wide space. New items include air shocks and load levelers, high pressure injection pump, low pressure fuel pump, door seals, wiper motor, alternator, belts, coolant reservoir, battery, tires, and stereo (which has iPod/MP3 connectivity). We've put many enjoyable miles on this van going to vintage races and would happily hop in it and drive anywhere. It is 25 years old, so has some wear and tear, but it is overall in solid, roadworthy condition and has been reliably in use. All in all, it would make a great van for hauling bikes, or converted into a general purpose hauler or work van.
