Up for sale is a 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, matching numbers, automatic transmission, newly plated original rear bumpers, new Electron top, new brake calipers all the way around, original rotors have been turned, new front bumper cover painted to match. Aside from the front bumper, the car is factory original paint. It is a no wreck body. You can see where the car has been waxed over the years and the paint is worn through; all body lines are good-where the doors open and close, where the deck lid opens and closes, where the hood opens and closes. You can see where the body was originally bonded together at the factory and underneath you can feel the original bonding strips which are all intact and unbroken. The nice thing about this car is that you can see the exact condition of the body and that it has not been wrecked and fixed with a lot of bondo. It is a very honest car. The frame and chassis are very solid and are not rusty. This car came out of Greensboro, NC and winters are very mild in North Carolina and there isn't a lot of salt put on the roads here. This is a car that you can drive and work on as you go. It is very drivable as it is and you can spend money on it as you go. We have taken two videos of the car running at idle and one driving down the road; it drives and runs well; the carburetor is original and could probably use a rebuild; it is not leaking. This is the last year of the chrome bumper Corvettes. Any matching number Corvette convertible is a good investment and we believe we have priced the car fairly at $13900. This leaves some room for money to be spent on it. We see them selling for the $20,000-$30,000 range depending on the restoration. This complete car gives you a great starting point that you can enjoy while you are restoring it. Just some notes: we have new door covers for the car; radio is not working; turn signals and brake lights and headlights are all working; headlights do not flip up; windshield wipers are not working; alternator, fuel, oil pressure and water temperature guages are all working fine; interior blower fan motor works on all speeds; the car has between 35-50 pounds of oil pressure when it is running. The engine always runs cool and does not overheat. The transmission was serviced locally by a transmission specialist and he said that it was very clean internally. It shifts well in all gears and does not slip. The power steering works very well and does not whine; there is a slight leak in one of the power steering lines.
