Vehicle Detail
1997 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI SuperCharged Sedan Hi FolKs and Welcome to Our Auction, Please note: Be sure to scroll all the way down as I have provided you wilth 100 pictures, if you can't find them all, then you haven't scrolled down far enough. Today for your consideration you are looking at our 1997 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI (black exterior) automatic 4-speed transmission, SUPERCHARGED 3.8L Series II, V6 engine, which is known for it's amazing reputation as being one of the best engines ever made by GM. This vehicle is fully loaded, equipt with a lighted keyless entry system, anti-theft alarm system, power mirrors, daytime running lights, automatic on/off headlights, fog lights, rear window defroster, center console, tinted glass, power antenna, dual powered (9 way adjustable) bucket seats (leather seating). It has power windows, power door locks, traction control, air suspension, and an air compressor in the trunk. In addition, it has a (power sliding glass) moon roof, Bose premium (AM/FM stereo) audio sound system, CD player (single disc), and it also has heads up instrument display technology. For those of you unfamiliar with heads up display (HUD). It is an electronic sysytem that super imposes vehicle information on the windshield directly in front of the driver without requiring the driver to take their eyes off the road. It allows drivers to keep their attention focused on the road and still receive information that would normally require a glance at the instrument panel on the dash. Hold on folks there's even more, it also has a remote trunk release, automatic climate control, air conditioning, intermittent windshield wipers and (4-wheel ABS) 16" alloy wheels. It has a rear spoiler, FWD (front wheel-drive) drivetrain, and a cubbyhole that folds down from the back seat which allows you to access the trunk. This feature is extremely handy when hauling objects such as long boards or similar items. Moreso, it has cruise control, dual airbags (driver and passenger front air bags), leather steering wheel trim, tachometer, tilt power steering with audio controls on the steering wheel, plus a dual exhaust. Not only that, but according to the Kelley Blue Book on-line site, they state that customers give an overall (average) rating of 4.4 out of 5 for this type of vehicle. In addition, even in their "Fair condition" assessments used, they still value it at well over $2000. Not surprising though, because according to recent news reports, used car values have significantly increased in their values. Also, directly below, you will see KBB's spec sheet. Please use it as a reference guide only, as I cannot guarantee it's accuracy. In addition, I would suggest doing your own research to your own satisfaction. Moreso, directly below this spec sheet you will also find all my comments about this vehicle's history and much more. So please be sure to scroll all the way down until the very end. Yes I know it's very long, but it's full of important information to assist you. Finally, as a reminder, I have 100 pictures for you below, check it out! EPA Trunk or Cargo 18.0 cu.ft. EPA Total Interior 126.8 cu.ft. Truck Bed Volume History: This vehicle was bought by my wife and I from our local used dealership about 10 years ago. To the best of my recollection we have put on over 160,000 miles since purchased. Also it's been driven by only either my wife or I (adult only driven) since we have owned it. In addition, it's my daily driver to work where I put roughly 60 miles a day commuting back and forth, and will continue to do so until the vehicle is sold (please keep in mind). Why are we selling it? Truth be told, we hate to have to sell it, but to be brutally honest we need the money due to cut backs in my hours at work. As a result, I need to compensate for it somewhere. Like most, we just hope to get by during this difficult time, and pray to GOD times will get better soon. In the mean time though, we need to make sacrifices, this being one of them. So please folks, don't hit the buy it now, or make an offer, unless you fully intend to follow through with the required terms as specified in this auction! To the best of our knowlege here are the things that we are aware of at the time of this auction listing concerning this vehicle. First and foremost we have always tried to maintain this car well and in doing so we were planning on fixing the flaws (windshield for appearance sake) but no extra funds have been available to do so. In spite of hardship, one thing that we have always done, regardless of monies, has been changing the oil regularly. Normally I'd use only a synthetic-type oil you can purchase from those supercenters. But the most recent oil change less than 1000 miles ago used standard weight oil. Most important: Engine/transmission: Both work as they should Exterior: Like much of the midwest we have experienced terrible tornadic and tornadic-type storms consisting of dangerous winds in excess of 40 mph. As a result, downed trees, debris, and scattered branches were left everywhere, (including on top of this hood). Consequently, the windshield has a (large spider-type looking) crack on the passenger side. As well as line cracks extending to the driver's side (see pics). Nonetheless it's still driveable and I continue to drive it as shown daily. Furthermore it hasn't gotten any worse thus far. If this concerns you then it may need to be replaced. Otherwise the rest of glass is good. Moreso, the branches left several small dents, pings, and dings, similar to large hail (see pics.) Even so, I don't know about you, but I am a visual type of person, as such I have attempted to assist you in your bidding efforts by providing you with 100 pictures (the maximum allowed) and hope it helps. Furthermore, over the years many scratches have accumulated throughout the vehicle as seen in pics. Some swirl scratches, or marks from simply washing, drying, and buffing. Others more pronounced with no known source. That said, I have attempted to show you some of these, but despite my efforts, they are extremely difficult to capture clearly, due to a reflection from black finish. In addition, the back bumper (focusing on the lower portion) has much fading when in comparison to the rest of the car. This may, or may not, wax up nicely, I do not know. Not only that, but there are two exhaust pipes in which the passenger side (end pipe) fell off unbeknowst to me. Also, there is a small crack in the red plastic cover (see pics.) on the lower part of the bumper. Moreso, the center console's cover will close but with some effort. This is due to using the inside as a cup holder for items to large to fit in the door's holders and it's flip-out cup holder is gone. The heater works great, but when you select the different positions available, it doesn't seem to respond as it should. This could be somehow related to the electronic areas, I don't know. It hasn't been an issue for us because all that we want is to have heat and that it does well. Tires: All tires hold air but have limited tread and at some point will need to be replaced as you see fit. Also, one has been plugged due to running over a nail. Still, I check them regularly to keep them at an optimal air pressure to ensure my best chances of getting the greatest gas mileage. In addition, the front driver's side wheel (while jacked up) does have some play which may require future attention. Belts: Although the supercharger belt appears to have some wear, it has been working fine (see pics.). Security: The light that says security stays on, as shown in the pictures. I realized this illumination only when we would use the key fobs to lock the vehicle's doors because sometime thereafter (once locked) the alarms would go off at around 2 or 3 AM. Back then when it first took place, I thought someone had been trying to break into it, or some kids were playing annoying pranks just to irritate me, as it always occurred in the middle of the morning. Overtime I come to discover after locking the doors with the key fobs, that it would either be only a few minutes, or many hours later, but at some point the alarms would go off all on it's own. It was only then, that I finally realized there was something strange going on with the security. After consulting with one mechanic about my experiences just described, he told me it was because the keys built in chips were too old, so the security system couldn't read them correctly and needed replacing. When I left, I thought that he could be right because we never changed keys, or got new ones either. We never even replaced the batteries, and when considering that there was a strong possiblity that they keys we were provided with at the tyime of purchase may very well be the originals, may be he's right. Yet, when I spoke with another one, he told me there were a bundle of wires located under the carpets of the front seats. He said, find them, remove the top, then brush gently to remove any corrossion that may have formed (I haven't tried either). Are they right? I do not know, but may be you do. That said, I am not a mechanic, nor an expert on vehicles. In fact, I know only the basics like most and that's about it. Regardless though, once I knew how to lock the vehicle without causing it to have any alarms go off (which I will show you) I just left it alone. However, if this bothers you, it may need to be looked into further. Brakes: Look at the picture provided which is a view of the front, driver's side, with it's wheel off. As you can see, there is a lot of life left. I didn't have time to check a back one because I got called into work (I am on-call after hours). That said, I will do so when time allows, if requested. Otherwise the brakes work, but there have been times as an example when the ABS and/or traction off, illuminate for no apparent reason (then go back off). As a result, durning those times, you may hear a sound while engaging the brakes. This sounds similar to when you are driving on an icy surface while hitting your brakes too hard, causing the anti-lock brakes to make this sound. In addition, there have been times when the dash will illuminate (for example again) ABS or traction off, and then immediately go back off as just stated above. But still, there are other times it may come on while you are driving, go off, and back on again, or times they don't. Other times, it may not display anything for one whole day, but then other times, may come on, and stays on, (like it is now). Please note: traction off light is on but subject to change, as I have no control over these electronic displays. But thus far the check engine light has never done this. Furthermore, sometimes they will illuminate until you shut the car off, remove the key, and re-insert the key again. Afterwards, they're off once again (just so you know this may occur). Consequently when I explained this to the mechanics they related back to the information I provided you earlier about cleaning the wires and/or replacing the keys. I don't know if that would work, or if they're right, as I have not attempted this, but you might. Leaks: I do have to add a small amount of oil about every 1500 hundred miles, or so, but considering the age, and mileage of this vehicle, I feel that is to be expected, you may not. Interior: The interior is a pewter-type color, including the mats, and carpeting, (which are stained and really dirty from work). The stains and dirt may or may not come out with further detailing, I do not know, I have not tried for lack of funds available for cleaners or other products necessary to do so. Also, the driver's seat has some wear, and a small area in the lower corner that is torn, cracked, including the sunvisors (see pics.). In addition, there are some wear marks, grime, dirt, stains, throughout interior (see pictures). Also, there is a piece of some-type of window molding (driver's side door strip) that I have attempted to glue down, regardless it doesn't want to stay glued down (see pics.) Even further, there is a small plastic-type piece that is gone which was used to hold the net in place inside the trunk. It was never an issue because we never used it. Also, the cigarette lighter located in the rear seating is gone as well. Back when we purchased this vehicle both lighters were used only for chargers/phones but one is lost/gone. Nonetheless, we have no use for it because we don't smoke. Not only that, but you will find that all the speaker covers, light covers, and others are gone, (lost) as well (see pics). One more thing concerning the interior, I feel it should be known that although this vehicle has never been smoked in for as long as we have owned it, we have used it to transport our family pets to and from the vets for their annual shots, checkups, and so forth (just in case you may have issues with that). Air conditioning: The AC doesn't currently work, however it worked last season, so I don't know if it just needs a recharge or perhaps something further. It's not an issue for us because with the sliding moon roof wide open, it's more than enough for us to keep comfortable, may be for you too. In addition, you will be provided with the operational manual as shown in pics. and any key/fob we may have, but you may need to replace batteries as we didn't use any due to the security as mentioned earlier. Another thing you may like to know, although the vehicle has tabs, registration, and insurance. The plates indicate the tabs will expire in September of this year 2011 and our insurance will be cancelled upon vehicle's purchase (just so you know). Important information please read: Well there you have it folks, thank you for taking the time to read all of this, as I am just trying to be completely thorough. As such, I want you to know that I have checked this vehicle over to the best of my ability, however based on it's age and mileage I cannot guarantee there aren't any further problems with it that I may have missed. I can guarantee that it ran and drove today as described. In the event that I may have missed something, it would be something small, and nothing significant, as I am not trying to be deceitful, or doing so intentionally either, but rather it was merely a honest mistake. In fact, I will make you this guarantee, if you should become the buyer for this vehicle, and upon your arrival of pickup, feel that I have mis-represented it in this auction as listed, you are not obligated to buy it whatsoever. BUT depite this offer, please be advised you will not get your $100 deposit back as this is to assist me in my listing fees, final fees, paypal fees, ebay fees, hosting fees, image fees, not including all the new additional fees required to re-list. Not to mention the fact that you had the opportunity to inspect prior to buying, and the vehicle was removed from other potential buyers as well. That being said, if you chose to purchase it, meaning paying the balance, and/or signing it's title, then the vehicle is yours. As such, I strongly recommend, encourage, and welcome you to fully inspect the vehicle to your satisfaction before hitting the buy it now or making an offer, because as with most auctions, including this one, the vehicle is SOLD AS IS, with no warranty expressed, or implied, whatsoever. In addition, there will be no refunds, no returns, or chargebacks allowed either. Buyer is required to make a (one-time) Paypal non-refundable deposit of $100 immediately to assist in covering the listing fees and to ensure me that you are indeed a serious buyer. The remaining balance, if purchased at arrival-pickup time, will be made in cash. Remaining balance required in full within three (3) days from auction end. One more thing, I have in hand a clear/clean Minnesota title for this vehicle. If sold, I would like to transfer the title at an area DMV (buyer's expense) to ensure it is done. However if you choose not to, that is fine with me, as long as you are prepared to provide me with the buyer's name to be titled, along with their address, and their driver's license number as well. I am not asking anything of you that isn't required of all sellers in the state of Minnesota. So there you have it folks, and it's only listed at $1200 or BEST REASONABLE OFFER Definitely a good deal for the money on a nice car that has potential for many more years of use. Yes, there are flaws but if you are mechanically inclined, or have friends, relatives, or others that are, you'll find the costs to be worth it. I do! I hope you feel the same!! So what are you waiting for??? We are Paypal verified and ID verified as well as shown with the icon by our user ID Any questions?? Please don't hesitate to contact me through my messages or through ask a question via eBay's system. I will reply ASAP but I don't have access to e-mail until I return home from work. So please don't expect immediate replies. In addition, if you would like to inspect or test drive it, you will have to schedule an appointment in advance. Thanks for looking! BEWARE of any second chance offers as I did not, nor will I, send you one. So if you get one, contact eBay immediately. As I will only re-list as an auction again if necessary. 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">16" alloy wheels, need polishing, stains click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">Scratches and dull finish on back bumper click picture to enlarge 3px">Scratches on corner of back bumper click picture to enlarge 3px">Full view of cracked windshield click picture to enlarge 3px">Cracked windshield from driver's side view click picture to enlarge 3px">See the scratch click picture to enlarge 3px">These are blown up to show you better click picture to enlarge 3px">See the stains, may or may not remove w/further detailing click picture to enlarge 3px">Battery secured even further with bungy cord click picture to enlarge 3px">Supercharged belt some wear but works fine click picture to enlarge 3px">Trunk view w/carpets removed to show spare wheel area click picture to enlarge 3px">Spare tire without cover click picture to enlarge 3px">operational manual closed view click picture to enlarge 3px">Operational manual inside view click picture to enlarge 3px">View of jack closet opened & shown click picture to enlarge 3px">Closed cubby hole from trunk click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">Remote trunk latch click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">Jack closet click picture to enlarge 3px">Air compressor inflater, we have never used click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">This is the security light that I said stays on click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">Heads up display light and light control click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">See how the back bumper is not shiny as the rest click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">As seen click picture to enlarge 3px">This has the power when needed w/no issues thus far click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">spider crack on passenger side click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">Size of dents from fallen branches click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px">Dents on hood from strom branches click picture to enlarge 3px">This is where fault lights will display click picture to enlarge 3px">Huge trunk but has stains click picture to enlarge 3px">See the swirl marks from washing & waxing etc. click picture to enlarge 3px">Tiny bit of rsut click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge 3px"> click picture to enlarge Please refer to description as instructions are clearly stated.
