Original owner ordered this car when Triumph announced their impending closure in 1980; it was purchased as an investment, and stored inside all this time. The owner was a college professor, and the car has been based in the the midwest all its life. It has never seen rain or salt, and is in extremely clean condition. We have all the original paperwork including the Triumph order form. This is an inexpensive collector car. It is in excellent, original condition with original top, boot, tonneau cover, etc. Not one ding, dent or scratch anywhere. It is stored in our heated aircraft hangar in Anderson, Indiana, and it can stay for a reasonable time in order for you to arrange transport. On Jul-01-11 at 09:16:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Several people have contacted me about the VIN and Vehicle History Report. I contacted Ebay Help Chat and this was their response: Jenny G. Pat, since your vehicle was manufactured before 1981, it will not be eligible for free history reports. Other guidelines are for those vehicles without a 17-digit vehicle identification number and vehicles that aren’t intended for the US market, (such as limited production exotics). Jenny G. The reason behind this is vehicle history report uses a car’s unique 17-digit VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to gather detailed information about the automobile’s past. patr4eub So there is no way to fix this? Jenny G. There's nothing to be fixed on your listing because you have a non 17-digit VIN and that is understandable for not having a free history report because of the guidelines stated above. as long as you have entered the correct VIN for this vehicle, there is nothing to be worried about. You would just need to state that in your listing that Autocheck doesn't generate history reports for vehicles manufactured before 1981 and those that are imported or don't contain a 17-digit VIN.
