Vehicle Detail
2004 Mustang Convertible 40th anniversery edition 48,900 miles. It's time to sell my dad's sports car. He's 78 and has driven this car lightly with caution and care since he bought it new (as a demo car) from the dealer in 2005. It's been garaged and well taken care of. Never been in an accident, just parking garage scrapes (those posts!) and once a guy backed into the bumper at the store. All fixed. My wife and I personally inspected, drove it and cleaned the interior and exterior. We found the car to be very nice, hard to let go of, really! Description: A clean 2004 Dark Red Mustang Convertible 40th anniversery edition with low milage. It has the premium package features; v6, auto trans, pwr leather seats and steering wheel, pwr windows, pwr top, great 6cd stereo, alloy wheels, cruise, AC and more. Condition: Good looking and semi-new feeling inside and out, any flaws are few and very minor. Mechanical: It starts and drives perfectly. I found the engine compartment clean, though the battery had some corrosion, which I took care of. All fluids were good and full when I inspected it and stayed that way as I drove it for two weeks. He has had the oil changed and other maintenance done regularly with his personal mechanic. The motor sounds nice, no rattles or vibration, and accelerates crisply with no hesitation that I found. The AC blows good and cold. Good braking, good handling, nothing feels the least bit loose. This is what you'd expect from a mature owner - he hasn't ever pushed the car in any way. That and no accidents makes for easy miles, which show in the mechanical condition and when driving. Exterior: It has had a few very minor dings over the years but the exterior was still very nice, paint looks great. I had a couple larger dings fixed so that the exterior is now even better! Very nice. And I have photos available of those dings before repair so you can see that it wasn't much. It does still have a few tiny scrapes and scratches. Nothing much, barely visible, but short of perfect. The top is also in good condition with a little minor staining from weather/pollution that may dissappear completely with a good ragtop cleaner. Still 90% clean, as the photos show. Interior: The interior is perhaps even better. The floor mats were worn, but the carpet underneath them and all around is almost like new. The dash and all plastic is very good. The leather seats look great, with only two minor defects on the driver's side that I took pics of. They don't show in daily use, but I found them while cleaning and have photos where I found the angle to make them stand out so you can see. There is some sun fading on the horizontal surfaces (visors, for example) from having the top down. Again hardly noticible. One thing; My dad is a smoker. After thoroughly cleaning the interior and airing it out, there is only a faint oder when we first get in. My wife and I are sensitive to smoke and perfumes and just barely notice a smell first getting in the car, then it's gone. Neither of us would have a problem with what little smell remains. And there are treatments that completely eliminate it. Apparently, that's what the dealers do, and why they will never mention smoke. I am because I want you to know exactly what you're buying and be very happy that what you get is what was described. The car wash down the street offers a treatment and we can have that done, but I'd disclose it anyway, so better that the buyer know the original condition and have it deodorized, if you think it's needed. Title: Clear and at hand, free of leins. Original owner, purchased from dealer as "new" demo car. Note: Car check is showing this car as having had two owners. It was purchased direct from the dealer as a "new" car at a discount due to already having 15k on it. My father was told it was a demo car, whatever that means. It was in perfect condition at the time and he was told he was the first owner after the dealer and the first to be issued plates. We don't understand what the Autocheck is showing, but it's a very nice car and has been from the start. Terms of sale: Warranty: This vehicle is being sold without a warranty. The seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Bidding: PLEASE DON'T BID UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO BUY THIS CAR. Complete payment will be required in certified funds within 10 days of the end of the auction. See payment tab for more info. Once complete payment is made, the vehicle will be released to the winning bidder. Title will be transferred immediately if possible (in state) or a memo of sale will be signed by both parties. Financing is availible through Ebay financing, so be sure to check that before bidding, if interested. I am a 100% rated seller, here on Ebay for many years. As always and especially with this car, I aim for a great transaction that is fair for both parties. Any further questions, please ask through Ebay or call me at 650-714-7534 Thanks, Steve On Jun-28-11 at 17:40:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I want to add some clarification on the payment details. 1) $500 deposit by paypal only.2 The car will not be released to the buyer until the balance of payment has CLEARED our bank. Be it cashier's check or money order whatever we work out. This can take days. For this reason, we STRONLY PREFER that the winning bidder arrange to pay by bank transfer, which will allow immediate release of the car and transfer of the title to save everybody time. On Jul-01-11 at 21:33:52 PDT, seller added the following information: OK, I just lowered our original reserve by $500 to help make sure the bidding breaks past reserve. But it's still got a ways to go...
