Vehicle Detail
The previous "buy-it-now price" auction buyer had to cancel his purchase due to legitimate health issues (I wish him well; that buyer bought another car from me and quickly paid in-full). Which leaves another opportunity for the "still shopping" and "new" searchers of quality vehicles. NICE WORKING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND WORKING AIR CONDITIONING. 1967 230SL roadster. Both hard top and soft top(both excellent). Hardtop headliner has NO rips/holes/seperations. The original soft top (previous owner thinks it actually is the original) is perfect, not rips/excellent plastic/good-tight & tight clamping/header fit. Interior is above driver quality; seats have NO rips/seperations/like new. Wood is above survivor condition. All gauges work. All lights work. Glove box locks-same key locks passenger door, with driver door having to be locked by inside door lock button (then lock passenger door from outside; so car can be secured). Door locking key fits trunk lock but does not lock trunk for some reason. Nice condition hubcaps and beauty rings. All trim chrome, bumper chrome almost flawless including hardtop chrome. There is NO pitting on door handles, etcetera. The original hardtop fits perfect and clamps tight; looks water tight. The windows roll up tight and easy with the drivers door window catching a little in the down position when ready to roll up, but is not falling out of track. There is one small (hard to see and wouldn't show up in picture) passenger ding that I have found. No others. Out of the last twelve years this was owned seven years by the last owner who bought it from his lawyer friend who owned it five years, and that owner purchased it from his neighbor. It has always been garaged and is rust free except for a small area in the trunk seal ridge (see picture; the ONLY RUST ON THE ENTIRE CAR!). Rockers, quarters, doors seem to have no previous rust or damage. It still has most of its undercoating. The last owner said he thinks it is the original mileage that the odometer indicates. It starts easy and runs quick; no leaks or smoke. All in all, it is 44 years of well kept (well made as we know) unrestored machine. Many years of proud ownership pleasure left to be had. Not to mention maintaining a value added collector re-sale down the road and worth any maintenance invested. The missing passenger side mirror is being ordered and will be installed. There is a NEW antenna which will be left to the new owner to install-see tools picture (the present antenna has the top piece broke off). The after market stereo/CD is not working at this time, although it does have power to it. There is an original complete tool kit in it's storage pouch, a factory wheel chuck, jack & parts in the trunk clamp down positions, spare and original spare cover-tool pouch snap built-in storage(see pictures). I have the spare off it's mounting place to show trunk under mat to any viewers that come to inspect/drive the car. Feel free to hire a professional inspector. This is an "as is" sale due to age. Exterior color is beige or antique off white(title says white) and looks to be original color repaint. The paint job is very good job. Many more pictures available. Bear's is usually fair priced, efficient, fast, and bonded/insured, ethical, honest; 866-858-8066; fax-847-589-0830; quote@bearstransport.com The wipers anbd directionals work but the directional lever switch tip (button) is missing; just the metal push contacts are exposed. On Jun-28-11 at 07:21:56 PDT, seller added the following information: There are two dings in the right rear bumper I only noticed after looking at the pictures. Please take a look at those two pictures (one rear of car/straight on, and one angle shot of right rear bumper). On Jun-28-11 at 07:50:18 PDT, seller added the following information: I also have a 1965 Buick Riviera. ORIGINAL all factory 2x4 with dual intake breather; 425 Wildcat big block; A/C; power windows, steering, brakes, driver seat, scan radio, spinner Riviera rims, 140mph speedometer. Runs, moves, brakes, good tires, almost driver, very low rust, ready for restoration. The 2x4 big block is what sets this in the UNIQUE catagory. On Jun-28-11 at 13:42:26 PDT, seller added the following information: CORRECTION: that's a 64 Riviera. Also, Sunbeam Tiger & maybe Pantera coming. On Jun-28-11 at 17:30:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Reference Mercedes: The new right side mirror previously mentioned has been purchased and is on its way and will be installed. The original owner's manual is in the glove box as well as most maintenance receipts done by the Florida owners, at least. On Jun-30-11 at 05:18:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I will have newer, more detailed and better pictures in the next several re-listings. Also, possibly a video attachment of running/ moving.
