Car does not run. For Sale As Is... Parts Car, or could be made to run again with repair work. I bought this car brand new 10 years ago for $22,000 and it ran great until last month when the engine locked up. Car does not run due to the fact that the engine seized up and does not turn over. You can hear it trying to start when key is turned, but never quite makes it. I have a digital video (mpg) of the engine and sounds it makes when trying to turn over engine. It is possible that there is a problem with the air compressor, although I am not sure of this. I replaced the original air compressor three years ago at a Ford Dealership, then was later told by another mechanic about two years ago that the new part sounded defective. It looks like all of the belts are intact, thus it is doubtful that this is due to a broken belt. The battery, which was also replaced approximately three years ago, might be dead now as I tried turning over the engine numerous times when the car recently stopped working. I'm not sure how much it will cost to repair or what exactly needs fixed, thus I am selling as is. The transmission, engine, coolant system, and electrical system were all fine until the car recently locked up as I was driving home. Because I have been planning on purchasing a new car anyway, I had the Taurus towed back to my house and decided to not fix it nor use it as a trade-in. The car's body is sound, there are some minor scrapes (pictured) on driver side panel, and a small sized crack in rear fiberglass cover. There are two tiny cracks (smaller than a dime or nickle) near the passenger side of the main windshield. The interior of the car is all leather, which was a special program package that came with the car. The leather seat of the drivers side has cracked and I covered it with beige colored vinyl tape (pictured), and also, the leather covering of some of the inner door panels pealed off, which is also pictured. The rest of the interior is in fair-to-good condition, just needs a good cleaning and probably a new driver's side floor mat. Car's original CD/radio system is in good condition, and audio speakers sound fine. Car also comes with spare tire. The other four tires are in fair-to-good condition. When I had the rear brakes replaced six months ago, I remember being told that the tires had at least around 40-50% of tread, but I cannot guarantee this. Pictures are accurate and provide a good overview of the condition. This is a great car for someone that is mechanically inclined and can change motors, or needs a Ford Taurus SES for a parts car. Priced to sell with No Reserve. Buyer must pay via cash and remove vehicle within (7) days of close of auction. I have the title, certificate of ownership, registration (in Washington), and all original manuals/paperwork, including the original window sticker (also pictured). Again, I am the original and sole owner of this vehicle. The accurate mileage for this vehicle is 128,115 as pictured. Winning buyer to meet me at a local bank in Beaverton, Oregon, which is a suburb approximately 7 miles west of Portland, Oregon. Buyer responsible for cost of towing or vehicle pickup, whichever buyer chooses to do. I am unable to provide any towing, shipping, or other means of transporting the vehicle to you.
