Vehicle Detail

1971 Honda SL350K1, SL350, Motosport 350 VIN SL350-2043251 Only 4020 miles. Very low miles example of an early 1970’s Honda that was popular back in the day. This was the second year of production for the SL350, and featured dramatic changes from the first year, such as much lighter weight and slim styling. One of my favorite Hondas, in my favorite color, candy orange. The bike does not appear to have ever been wrecked. There are no dents in the body, no scrapes on the fender, and the handlebars are straight. The frame paint has been rubbed on the lower left side; I am not sure why. It would be very easy to restore this bike to showroom condition, or if you do not mind a little frame suface rust here and there and the typical SL350 muffler rot, just drive it just like it is - it still looks and runs great. I always get thumbs up from people that see it. I bought the bike a few years ago thinking I would have time to restore it. However I have way too many motorcycles and too many motorcycle projects (including two more SL350K1’s) so it is time to thin the herd. I have a clear North Carolina title for this bike, signed by the original owner. Here are the details: Paint and bodywork – the bodywork is in very, very good condition. There are no dents in the tank or fenders. The candy orange paint is very good, not showroom perfect, but so good I would NOT repaint it even if I restored the bike. Very, very slight fading of the candy orange paint. The side covers are not cracked and all tabs are intact. The silver frame is showing the typical weathering and slight rust and needs to be painted. Motor – Runs great, shifts well, idles fine. I firmly believe the mileage (4,020) is correct. All cooling fins are straight. Minimal engine corrosion. Foam air filters are in great shape (replaced just before I bought it) as well as the rubber air filter boots. Electrical – in great shape. All lights, etc, work. Harness is in very good condition. Frame – straight and undamaged. Wheels – The rims/wheels are straight. Typical corrosion on the spokes which would clean up with steel wool, but would never look like new. Replacement spoke kits are inexpensive. Hard to find parts – This bike has the tool box cover and the horn button, both are usually missing from these bikes. The handlebars are straight with good chrome. Exhaust – The headers are great, but the mufflers have significant rust holes, especially the left side. Chrome – There is not much chrome on this bike, but what there is on it is average for the age of the bike. Some minor pits here and there. The fork tubes are very nice with no rust issues. Instruments – great shape; clear and non-faded. Both work smoothly. Payment and Shipping: Please make sure you have the money to purchase the motorcycle before you bid. Please remember this is a 40 year old motorcycle. There is no warranty. I have tried to be a descriptive and straight forward as possible. Please review all the photos and if you need a specific shot, contact me, I should be able to send you additional photos if you have a particular need. Contact me via Ebay if you have questions. I always try to respond quickly. I suggest you read my feedback. Almost all my Ebay transactions are motorcycles or motorcycle related items. I have 100% positive feedback and intend to maintain it. If you have less than 5 feedbacks, or your feedback is less than 95%, please contact me prior to bidding, otherwise your bid may be removed. A $300 deposit via Paypal is required within 24 hours of auction end. This deposit will not be refunded because the high bidder changed their mind or does not have the balance. The balance is due within 10 days of auction end. Cash in person, certified funds, or wire transfer for the balance due. If you prefer to pay the balance via Paypal, you must pay the Paypal fee (3% I believe). The purchaser must pick up the bike within 14 days of auction close. I will ship to overseas buyers. The purchaser must make all shipping arrangements. I suggest U-ship if in the continental US. I will not allow the motorcycle to leave until full payment is received.
