Vehicle Detail
2 owner, both dealers! 1970 Chevelle Malibu Convertible with, yes, ORIGINAL 66,495 miles! Bought in Colorado in 1970, first owner had it for 31 years. Second owner(my dad) has had it since 2001. Both owners were auto dealers. I have extensive documents on the vehicle from 1970 to today. First owner did not like the red factory side stripes and thus has the sides painted quite a while ago. There has been no damage to the vehicle as far as we know. Miles are real. Car has all new brake system from the front to the rear($1400 receipt included). New tires. Windshield in great condition. Original motor, transmission. As close to original as can be found. Paint still good, shines. Few flaws in paint, a few small cracks in paint in just a few places. Only titled in Colorado and Wyoming its entire life. Garaged EVERY day since 2001 at least. New windshield post and rear window rubber(receipt included). Transmission recently serviced. New battery and trickle charger. Car fires up like new. Power top works excellently(just tried it 6/19/11). Power steering car, NO power brakes. Custom car cover included. Has original boot for top, top is also newer with no flaws. Comes with original jack and canvas cover for jack. Comes with 2 extra matching wheels that are an exact match. New trunk mat. No air conditioning(put the top down!). 250 HP 350 V8 engine. Automatic transmission. All chrome is in original conditon and very good shape. Comes with some serious provenance, original warranty booklet with metal badge with original customers name imprinted! Comes with original Owners manual, Original consumer info booklet, pics of the car with stripes, registrations for about 36 of the 41 years it has been around. Have Original owners title copies signed off to my dad and clear title in hand from him to you. Car not perfect, it is an unmolested survivor. Without restoration, you won't believe the condition it is in. Without guarantee that I can find them, I am looking for the Original window sticker and build sheet. It is in his possession, just having problems finding it. Will look hard for them, and if found, of course will come with vehicle. I have 55+ pictures of the vehicle taken on 6/19/11. I could not get very good pictures of the flaws, there are spots that look like clearcoat(not clearcoated) hairline cracks. There are about 5 of these areas, if you don't bend down and squint, you cannot see them. Interior is original and looks great. Spots on the shifter surround are inside the plastic, not damage on the outside. Door panels tight, drivers panel armrest has crack you can see in picture. Doors close effortlessly, surprisingly easy shutting. Door buzzer/ignition buzzer working. All interior lights including glove box work. Center console NOT BROKEN. Car drives great, looks great, and is a real survivor with seriously unrestored mileage. I am putting a realistic reserve on vehicle. Vehicle is my dad's, he was a FORD dealer for 40 years, I too am a dealer but am selling this one privately for him. We do have receipts of work the first owner did, as well as what he has had done. Mostly battery issues from not driving it. Top is perfect, interior is really good for the year. If you have questions, please email me only: colta@halladaymotors.com and I will try to answer them quickly. I am NOT an expert on this vehicle but can tell you a lot about it. It will make an awesome daily driver in the summer or if you want to perfect the vehicle, it is a perfect slate. NO RUST that I can see underneath or on painted surfaces. Where can you find a 2 owner 66k mile Chevelle Malibu Convertible with the right engine/tranny combo with these enticing colors? Plain white with Ruby red interior. Only 7141 convertibles were made in 1970, how many are left? How many survived in this condition? Shipping can be arranged by me, but will not be included in pricing. I deal with multiple carriers daily. Please let me know if you have shipping questions. Payment: $1000 deposit within 1 day of winning bid, plus the remainder within 10 days. I will work with you on payment type. Contact me for that as well. You will not be disappointed in this magnificent survivor Malibu. Email me for many more pictures.
