Vehicle Detail
1975 Honda XL 125 This is a Great Bike! I Bought this bike 03-08-2006 from a Guy in Wheatland, WY I have put 700 to 800 miles on the bike. Starts in one or two kicks I do have a Clear Title in my name Now what I am going to type next is from the owner before me Previous owner wrote: " My dad bought this bike used around 1977 It got parked in the barn in the late 1980's until I got it running again It has a clear title in my name. The odometer says 6534 but it does NOT work. I'm guessing it has approximately 10,000 miles on it. It had been parked all winter and went out and it started on the second kick today. Since 2004 I've added a new: supertrapp muffler, fork seals, points, spark plug, lined the tank, seat cover, air filter, carburator kit, tubes and tires. The bike does not burn hardly any oil. Here's what I know to be wrong. The Key ignition switch is missing, horn does work, there is no battery, head and tail light and brake light are dim at idle do to no battery rear shocks are warn out, scratches and a few small dents in the tank, dents in the bottom pipe, fork stop on frame is bent so fork touches gas tank when turned fully to right, the gas reserve stem is broke off the petcock so there is no reserve, speedometer does not work. I suspect the cause is a bad speedometer gear in the front hub, As of last August it started leaking oil from stator cover. I replaced the seal on the stator cover before I parked it over winter but there was oil under the bike when I pulled it out today for the first time this year. I cleaned oil off the bottom of the crank case and took it for a ride. A few days passed I again see a drop of oil hanging from the metal lobe behind the oil drain plug. I checked the drain plug and it was only hand tight. I must have forgotten to tighten the drain plug after I replaced the stator seal I will check again in a couple of days to make sure the plug was the culprit. This was a Spare bike for my brother and myself used when we were growing up if our main bikes were broke down. My son and his friends have learned to ride motorcycles on this bike" Since 03-08-2006 I have replaced the spark plug Changed the oil rebuilt the petcock bought correct Honda decals never put them on (that comes with it) I also replaced with new lever set and enjoyed riding it. I think that the needle or the seat is not sealed correctly on the carburetor but my easy fix for that is when I stop I turn the gas off and it does not leak. Bike comes with: Service Manual in a 3 ring binder Gasket set new in package Spare exhaust Spare Triple Tree Misc. Bolts Spare foot Pegs Spare Control Levers Spare shift lever Spare brake Lever SHIPPING LOCAL PICK UP ONLY in Custer, SD 57730 according to the service manual the bike weight is 214 lbs VIN Number is 1111147 miles unknown Title was issued 03-28-2006 I have the clear title in my name.
