The car was last registered 2 years ago in California so there may be some penalties in CA but the Title is a clear CA lien (see description below). This would make a nice first Corvette or a mild fixer-upper. Lien sale papers are issued to a tow company when they impound a car for the police dept. This process allows them to sell the car after it has been held for 45 days. During the process the owner is always notified prior to the sale of the vehicle. The owner always has the option to pay off any fees and claim their vehicle. If no fees are paid within the 45 days then the tow company sells the vehicle and the previous owner loses any right to claim the car.
