Vehicle Detail

This is a great opportunity to own a classic sport bike. The bike has mostly been sitting for the last few years. It is my wife's bike and she parked it because she bought a new bike and doesn't ride this one anymore. I have recently installed a new battery and cleaned the carburetors. The bike fires right up and idles great. The motor sounds and runs great and is ready for daily riding. The bike needs new tires and brakes in the near future but can be safely ridden now. Bike has 85,137 miles on it. Bike comes with a detachable rear seat cowl for a cafe racer look. Additionally the bike has a center stand which I am told is somewhat rare for these bikes. Take a close look at the pictures and video to get a better idea of the condition of the bike. It will need some work to get it looking perfect but the bike runs well and was a daily driver before being parked a few years ago. Here is a video of the bike starting up and running. Copy and paste the following to your browser to view the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HkcCIxT6w8 It is titled as a 2004 custom. I was told by the previous owner that he took the vin tag off to powder coat the frame and then lost it. So California DMV registered it as a custom built bike. Tags are current but registered as a voluntarily non operational vehicle. Here are all the things I know about the bike that need work: 1. The front wheel is bent a bit. This doesn't seem to affect the handling of the bike as both my wife and I have ridden it in this condition for years but it is something I would want to know if I were buying a bike. There is a picture of this attached. 2. The fairings are a bit worn and have some cracks. (see pics) 3. The side fairings have posts that have broken off and been repaired. You can't tell by looking at the bike but when you take them off you will notice. 4. The brakes and tires need replaced. The chain and sprockets may need to be also I am not sure. 5. The clutch lever is bent and should be replaced. (see pic) 6. The front right turn signal lens is missing. 7. Since the bike has been sitting for a while I would change all the fluids in the bike. With the exception of the gas. I drained the old gas and put new gas in when I cleaned the carbs. On Jun-22-11 at 11:52:07 PDT, seller added the following information: 8. The radiator fan is hard wired to a toggle switch on the controls of the right handle bar. I think a sensor went bad at some time in the past and this was a fix by a previous owner. It has worked fine for years but again this is something I would want to know if I where bidding.
