Vehicle Detail
1979 VW Type II NO RESERVE! Up for sale is my 19** Volkswagen bus. We call our transporter sunshine because it is yellow. There is a sad story behind why I am selling it. A few weeks ago I was driving home from work and the engine caught on fire. Luckily I was able to put it out quickly with a fire extinguisher. Needless to say, the bus no longer is running. But as you can tell by the pictures (and information below) it is in great shape and would make a fantastic project. Here is what the bus has to offer: - 2.0 liter engine, not running. - A/C and heater unit. (heater was so amazing to have in a VW through the winter) - Pull out canopy - Interior is in good shape - No rips or tears in the headliner - It was running great until the fire - No bad rust - All windows are immaculate Here are some of its faults - It was a bad paint job so it is wearing off. - Slight charring of the back vents, and flaking of some near engine exterior paint from the fire. - The odometer doesn't work. Says 37,*** - The front seats aren't original, they are bucket seats from a nissan. - Minor rusting around the front windshield and down from the gas cap (see photos). - Interior door panel not on. I have it though. I purchased this VW in Utah and have owned it VW for about 2 years and it was excellent. The previous owner put in the 2.0 liter so it had less than 15k on it. I am really sad to let it go. Like I said, it is a 2.0 liter engine which are pretty spendy to put in and with some rebuilding this thing could be running again. It would also be a great parts bus for the windows, interior, canopy, heater, etc. Let me know if you have any serious questions about the vehicle I would be happy to set up a phone call. The winner of the auction will need to pick up the VW in Boise, Idaho. Or figure out a way to ship it to wherever you need it.
