Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a Total Performance King T roadster Project. I have been working on this for a couple of years now and have gotten most of the hard stuff done. I have gotten very busy with other things and need the shop space so my loss is somebody’s gain. This car is a work in progress and has never been titled or on the road. The car is based on the Total Performance roller package, which consisted of the frame, suspension and body (Superior Glass Works). The Rear suspension is a Ford 8” rear and an open center section, 4 link, coil over shocks, Panard bar, and stock drum rear brakes. The front Suspension is a dropped I beam, hairpins and old school friction shocks. The steering is a reverse vega box and is mounted and all done. The front brakes are Wildwood Disks. The brake lines are all complete and awaiting fluid. The rear emergency brakes are connected to a Lokar tranny mount E brake handle. The fuel tank is installed (TP 10 gal) and most of the fuel line is plumbed including a canister filter, electric pump & regulator. The engine is a rebuilt (but never started) 4 bolt main 350 SBC (one piece main seal). The block was bored .30 over & aligned bored. The heads are double hump and the cam is a performance Comp Cams flat tappet. The intake is an Offenhauser 3 deuces rig with three Stromberg 97s (that will need rebuilding). Included is all the parts to rebuild the carbs. The radiator is a new chopped Walker unit with fittings for the tranny cooler. The water pump is a new aluminum short style and the Powermaster alternator is a new and mounted. The exhaust needs to be completed but i have two choices for you. The first is a set of Patriot header/side pipes. The other is base on a pair of old corvette ram horn manifolds (but no exhaust pipes). Both are included so you choose which style you prefer. The tranny is a 700R4 with a Lokar shifter. I bought the tranny on eBay some time back and was planning on having it gone through after all the mock-up and fabrications was done. There is a new flex plate and ARP bolts and also a torque converter included. Also included is a brand new in the box Ron Francis Bare Bonz Wire harness The body has been mounted and the steering column has been mounted. The Windshield has been mounted but the Lexan windshield has not been cut or installed (the Lexan is included). The nose and grill are rough fitted as are the hood and hood side panels. Both are relieved for the carbs and side pipes. The hood pieces attach with quick connect Dzus fasteners. The body, nose and hood are rough fitted and will need to be finished. No prep work has been done on the fiberglass and it is still in gel coat. The seats are buckets from a MG-B and are in need of recovering and mounting. I have a cool old set of old bomber style seat belts and mounts to go with the car. The gauges are new Stewart Warner electric gauges mounted in an old SW panel. The headlights are original Guide style and are the rare side mount style. They are rough mounted and will need some work to finish. The tail lights (50 Pontiac) are mounted as is the license plate mount. I have mounted a 3rd brake light in the rear turtle deck that is pretty cool. The wheels are new 15 in front and rear smoothies with hub caps and trim rings. The front tires are new P185/65R15 but the rear tires (P275/60/R15) are used and will need to be replaced. In terms of what is left to be done, here is the balance of my to-to list;Find radiator hoses that fit, finish exhaust, finish the fuel lines, Install the seats, Install battery box, Finish the headlights, Finish the hood, Wire the car, Block sand and prep for paint, Paint, Install Interior, Install glass in windshield, Get and mount proper rear tires, Re-build the tranny, Fabricate a drive shaft. This style car has been featured in Street Rodder Magazine (Hot Rod Girl series of articles) as well as in Rod & Custom Magazine. Go to this link and read about some of the directions you could take this car - http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/featuredvehicles/0701rc_ford_model_t/index.html There has been lots of parts purchased and work done on this car. It is pretty close to being done and would make a great project and with some focus, quick to finish.
