Here is a 1969 DJ-5A Postal Jeep. DJ-5A (1968–70) : 153 cu in (2.5 L) Chevy Nova straight-4, 2-speed Powerglide automatic This is a 2-wheel drive. This jeep has 16,531 actual miles. Runs ok, will need complete tune-up. Body is in good shape, has minor rust, dings, and paint issues. This does have other issues, tranny leaks, radiator will need good flushing (also heater core needs flushed), and some brake work. The brakes are presently not working. The steering has been moved to the left side, has had another seat added. Only one set of seatbelts-still on right side. I purchased this jeep approximatly 2 years ago from an 85-year-old gentlemen I had the privelage to work with. The jeep was sitting in his garage, hadn't been started in about 9 years. He was a postal worker, he had this jeep issued to him in 1969. Bought in 1975 when he quit. Title is from 1975. He switched steering, basically used for parades, and sunday driver. This has red stripes on the sides, but he painted over them. I removed gas from tank, tank is very rusty but solid. I put a new carb kit in it, lubed up pistons, new gas, battery... turned it over and it started right up. Smoked a little at first, ok now, does have some black smoke (carb adjustment). I haven't messed with the brakes. The guy said the brakes were froze up, so he adjusted them off to move the vehicle. Might be an easy fix. This jeep is in very good condition and is very solid. Everything works, lights, blower motor, wipers, etc. There are some holes in upper rear corners (may be mirrors) Also holes in left fender where there was a mirror. This jeep is approximately 11' long and 5' wide. emergency brakes work great. Has manual and parts books, new brake shoes, and misc. extra parts. I put the hubcaps on it. I don't know if this has the correct air breather cover, the one on it has been cut out to keep from hitting the heater core.
