Up for sale is a remarkable 1987 Porsche 944s. This is a *No Reserve* auction, highest bid takes it. This is my dream car and I positivly hate to sell it but I bought a house and my driveway is super steep so I can only park 2 cars which means there is not enough room for my baby. Whoever buys it is getting a fantastic car. Every time I get behind the wheel it turns heads and I get the fantastic feeling that only driving a Porsche offers. 5 speed, DOH, 16 valve, PW, PS, PM, Power sunroof works perfectly, ABS. This is the "S" version so this has the bigger motor, sport handling and some other factory modifications. The "S" series was only produced from '87-'89 so they are much more rare to find and a lot quicker then a 944 NA. This car is responsive, fuel efficent, and handles like a dream. Tachometer/odometer/speedometer has a loose wire or needs a new set of speed/refrence sensors (sensors are about $90 each and may need 2 of them, if you can put them in yourself that will save you a bundle) for it to work properly. I really think it is the sensor as all the other gauges work properly. The mileage on this car is roughly 89,xxx odometer shows 86xxx and thats where it stopped working. Once you correct the sensors I am told it should work properly again. Title is actual miles currently and you can decide how you want to handle that. The drivers side mirror is a little smaller then it should be. You can order a new glass for $5-10 on Amazon, I just ordered the wrong size. This car is in excellent condition. $3500 service completed last year (tune up, belts, balance belt, water pump, timing belt, distributor cap and wires). If you are buying a 944 and all of that work has not been done within the last 10k - 20k miles keep looking because your overpaying for the car if it's not been maintained properly. This car was driven last summer daily, properly stored for the winter in a garage and has been taken out for the summer only a couple times so far this year. I would not hesitate driving this car cross country right now. Newer Sachs Clutch, Sachs suspension, practically brand new matching Pirelli tires on phone dial rims, new slave and master cylinder, new bosch battery with warranty, new sony explode speakers all the way around and a sony explode deck with Aux input so you can listen to your thumb drive in the car. The paint is in overall good condition for a 25 year old car there are normal scratches chips. I can't stress enough the great condition of this car. I searched for a long time to find this ride in this condition. Mechanicaly this car is solid, the transmission shifts perfectly, the clutch has plenty of life, there are no leaks of any kind. The motor sounds great, it flew thru inspection last year and still has valid inspection. The car has the classic Porsche sound that just can't be duplicated. The A/C works and has been converted to R-134a it's not as cold as r-12 but thats illegal now so at least this way you can re/charge it easily with r-134a. The seats have no rips, electronic switches all work like they should. The targa top is infamous for going bad and this one works exactly like it should. There are no worn spots in the steering wheel and only 2 very small sun cracks in the dash (see pics). All the lights work properly and the headlights flip up with zero issues. Meticulously maintained regular matinence and oil changes all done by good mechanics. This car has not been raced or abused and it is as original as they come.
