Vehicle Detail
Black with black leather interior. 4 snow tires on wheels in great shape and currently on car. Car was backed into by a van about six months ago, and needs a hood, bumper cover, and radiator support - did not damage radiator or a/c condensor. Also, about 6-7 years ago I hit a deer and at that time the hood, plastic bumper cover, one headlight assembly were replaced. Engine runs great today, 44,000 miles after a rebuild. It is still my current daily driver. Have owned the car since it had 14,000 miles. This is the more rare GS-R model with the stock B18C engine. New clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, plus the big bearing on the front of the transmission replace all at once about 3-4 years ago. Engine itself was rebuilt at 128,000, due to excessive oil burning and a single burned intake valve - the valve burned because the seal on that valve was letting oil into the combustion chamber causing oil in the fuel air mixture which consistently fouled the plug and then eventually burned that valve. This rebuild included main bearings, connecting rod bearings, new intake valves, new valve seals and piston rings. Original blade wheels in my basement - tires need to be replaced so they are not on the car right now. They have no curb rash. All front end wearable parts were replaced at one point - the tires had a bit too much negative camber because of worn lower ball joints or inner bushings - I decided to change all wearable parts at a cost at that time of $1,100. Interior of car is decent. Biggest issue is that the board under the carpet in the cargo area is shot - it needs to be replaced. You can see in the pictures that the carpet back there is loose. I undid the clips at one point and took the carpet out to clean it. I just never re-installed it. The driver seat has a small hole in the side bolster. This is not a perfect car - it is a 12 year old car that has been driven continuously and it shows it. On the other hand, it is complete and not modified, short of a cold air intake (I still have the original airbox and parts which go with the car). A handy person could fix the front end and have an enjoyable vehicle for years to come. Fixing the three rust spots and some paint work would make it really nice. Selling only because buying something newer. I have enjoyed owning this sporty car and will be sad to see it go. Car is listed locally and I reserve the right to terminate the auction if it sells via a local ad.
