Vehicle Detail
The Village of Sherburne, NY is listing a surplus Fire Engine for sale. The vehicle is a 1982 Ford/Sanford Fire Engine, equipped with a a Detroit 6L-71T with 275 HP, Allison Automatic Transmission and Hale 1000 gpm single stage pump. The water tank is a 750 gallon steal tank with no known leaks. The vehicle drives well and pumps/drafts easily. Purchased new by the Village of Sherburne it has remained in service as a fire engine until being replaced in the spring of 2011. The vehicle received regular maintenance, has always been stored inside, and received all needed repairs. The vehicle will be sold with a Hale brand 3500 GE gasoline generator pre-wired to the truck, two quartz flood lights, hard suction hose, and a 35' three section extension ladder. Condition: This vehicle is sold as is where is, local pick up only. The truck has been well maintained however it is a used fire engine that is approaching 30 years in age. There is some light rust on the diamond plate near the pump panel (as can be seen in the pictures) and the vehicle does start hard when it is cold (if the vehicle has not been running for any length of time it often requires two starts to stay running, once running the vehicle runs smooth and well within seconds, it is unknown what the cause of the starting problem is.) The engine has never failed to start and drives very well. The pump and generator operate well, transmission shifts smoothly, all lights appear to be functioning. The vehicle can been viewed for inspection by making arrangements via email. Do not hesitate to ask any questions.
