Vehicle Detail
This is “Lucy.” We thought long and hard about whether to keep this motorcycle or not, but we have too many projects to fund so she’s now available. We purchased this bike locally several years ago from the estate of a local gentleman who only occasionally rode the bike but always used her for Shriner parades. The Shriner license plate frame is still on the bike! Lucy is a true one-owner survivor. The yellow factory “do-not-disturb” paint is still intact on everything except the front brake bleed screw; we replaced that with a new Honda part. All the other parts are original and totally unmolested. The wiring has never been modified or cut, and is still secured by all the original Honda retainers. The motor has 140 pounds of cold compression across the board, and runs as you would expect a 14,000 mile motorcycle to run. She drives beautifully and the transmission and clutch work as they should. The exhaust is excellent original and has no dents or rust holes. Our weather here in San Diego is desert dry and the bike lived, and is currently located, some distance from the ocean. However, Lucy still has some patina from being stored in a shed for years. This would be acceptable (and perhaps desirable to some) for an unrestored thirty-six year old motorcycle. The front fender has a dent at the leading edge. The tank interior has some very small patches of light surface rust but 95%, or more, of it is a perfect shiny factory metal. There are no obvious dents in the tank, but there are a few paint chips. Her paint is slightly sun faded but still beautiful. The original seat is exceptionally fine, both top and bottom! One side cover has been repaired; the second one needs repair. It’s an unfortunate fact of life for the old original CB750 Honda parts. Lucy comes with her original title, original owner’s manual in its sleeve, her original warranty booklet, new vehicle registration from 10/21/1975, and a tune & service receipt from the local Honda dealer dated 1/31/1977 at 3280 miles. She certainly wasn’t overused even early on! What we did to prepare her for the next owner: New Yuasa battery Oil change with Honda oil and filter New air filter Flushed hydraulic brakes New OEM front brake pads New plugs Adjusted cam chain Adjusted points Adjusted valves Lubricated drive chain Mounted new Bridgestone BT-45 tires and Bridgestone tubes We did not rebuild the carbs. She starts and runs acceptably well, so we decided to leave that task for the new owner. This motorcycle is being advertised locally since we’d prefer that she go to a local buyer so we can keep an eye on her. We therefore respectfully reserve the right to end the auction early should she be sold. We will assist in arranging shipping worldwide, but all transport expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. Obviously, Lucy is being sold exclusive of any warranty, expressed or implied. Please contact us for any and all questions that are not addressed in the auction. Bidders with fewer that five winning auctions must contact us for a bidder's preapproval. Thanks for your interest in “Lucy.” If you want her to be yours, we wish the best of luck on the auction!
