Vehicle Detail

This is fine example of a well cared for but driven cabriolet. I bought this car from a dealer of pre-owned Porsche's in Ft. Lauderdale who traded this car for a late model Porsche. It was a one owner car for the state of New York. It had 94,000 miles in 2007 and I since have put about 16,000 more ( ironic we both drove the car alittle over 5,000 a year or 100 miles a week) Being a one owner with consistent year to year low mileage was an important factor in my purchasing this one. This two owner car has been owned by middle aged adults who did the proper maintenance and never raced or abused the car .The beauty of this air- cooled G-50 is it is relatively maintainence free ( Other than brakes, valve adjustments, tires, oil changes, and gas). The only issue I faced in more than 4 yrs was a real main seal leak and while replacing seal I elected to rebuild clutch. This work was done a few months ago by one of the best porsche shops in N.C.. This car is all orginal except the radio with now sports a cd and much improved sound with I did almost immediately. However,if I known that I would have the top down and listening to the engine's beautiful sound so much I probably would not have worried so much about a radio. Over the years I have owned many sport and muscle cars that were exciting car to drive but the 911 I never tire of . I bought it to satisfy the void left when I sold my Harley. It did a good job considering it has four wheels. The only reason I am selling is in this economy I need to invest in my business so toy's go first. This is a very tight and straight car. It drives and runs super. The vehicle has had couple of small accidents no structural damage just cosmetic in nature. Some paint work required on two occasions. Once before me and one during my ownership. In my case someone nicked my front bumper putting a cut into the rubber and small rub on paint . The paint on the car looks great only a few very small chips from road wear. ( I get many compliments ). The interior is in very good condition but the leather seat bottoms have some cracking with a three small tears. All of this was done before I purchased the car. I had to condition the leather and wheels because the previous owner was not a "hands on" detailer like myself. Since the top was often down the leather dried out a bit over time. I have restored it the best I could. For a little over one grand you can replace the leather. At first it bothered me, but I just liked it original. That means more to me ( after 22 years it should show some age, right ). Top is in great shape as are the Fuchs wheels. All gauges work even the clock. Tires are 80% plus with about 4000 miles on them. The engine was dropped two months ago to fix rear main seal and checked out fine just a small leak down in cylinder 5. Transmisson was also fine while clutch was rebuilt only because labor on seal covered all but parts. Also at this time, I had valves adjusted ( because it was in shop and didn't want to send it back in 6 months or so) and replaced the battery. I had no thoughts of selling this car when I did all this work and I even bought new front floor mats.. I almost forgot about the A/C. It worked ok when I bought the car but since I only drove th car with the top down I never used the A/C so my porsche buddies told me to take off the belt to get better proformance . So, if thats important to you ; you will want to service it . This car should bring between $20,000 and $25,000 depending, the market area in a decent economy but I am letting it go for much less. Unfortunately, I must sell at this time. If you are looking for a nice 87 to 89 model 911 cabriolet that wont break the bank then this may be your Porsche. I searched for over a year before choosing this one. I drove over a dozen before I picked this one. Many had lower milege or slightly better condition but were all 5 to 15 thosand more. So, I figured since you can never gaurantee the maintainence of a used vehicle ( no matter mileage or condition ) then the money I saved would more than cover any unnoticed or future problems. That worked out great for me ( because I went 4 years before any maintainence other than brakes and tires were required. You wont find a nicer one at anywhere near this price. Good luck bidding and I will try to answer any questions you might have. This will be a no reserve auction starting around 75% of fair market value. I also put a Buy it Now price that is at least $2,500 less than fair market value for anyone who really wants this car. I have been a member of ebay for a long time. I realize you might sell your item faster due to a large audience but you wont get top dollar.
