Vehicle Detail
I have for sale my 68 Pontiac Lemans. It is a sweet looking, great running, extremely rare, classic muscle car. It is a four door no post car (that means when both front and rear windows on the same side are down, there is no post in the way (it looks really sweet)). I dont believe it is missing even one single piece of trim, inside or out. Motor/drivetrain- The car has the original 350 with a 4bbl carb on it.This was the top of the line factory option motor for this car. It also has factory air conditioning and power steering which is rare for the age. The motor starts every time, runs strong, and has given me no issues at all. I replaced all belts and gave it a tune up (cap, plugs , wire, oil change, new air filter) when I purchased the car. The transmission is also original and is in great working order as well. Body- The car now has cherry red paint (originally baby blue). The gentleman I bought it from said the previous owner had the car painted, so would guess it to be 8-10 years old. There are no major dings or dents to report. There are approx. 10 dime size bubbles under the paint on the upper middle of the hood. They are not very noticable, but they are there. There is onesmall spot on the drivers side rear fender that the paint has cracked, fallen off, and resulted in very minor surface rust. The paint is not perfect, but i would give it a seven out of 10. All the chrome and trim pieces are complete. All lights work, and the tail light and turn signal covers are in good condition. All of the windows roll up and down with ease, and all doors open, close, and lock as they should. The black vinyl top was replaced by the previous owner and is in great shape. Interior- The interior is in great condition except for a split in the drivers seat (very noticable, split along back and bottom) and you can see the foam. This split is about 2 inches wide. I use it this way, and have not noticed it getting and worst (or better). The dash is not cracked, but someone took out the original radio and put in a tape player.I am sure they modified the opening, but the did a nice job on the install. The speakers (original too I believe) are not exactly surround sound quality, but they do work. All ashtrays are where they should be, and the door panels are in near perfect condition. The lap belts are all there, as well as the shoulder straps (which clip up to the headliner when you dont want to use them). The carpet is in great condition, and I believe the original Pontiac floor mats (also in good condition) are still on the floor. The floor is solid, and in good condition as well. Needs- I am sure it is due for maint on the brakes. They work fine but I havent ever had them checked or done anything with them. It will need tires to make it daily driver ready, as the ones on there are older and weather checked. The upholstry on the seats should be replaced due to age age and condition. I would also think that the steering (ball joints ect.) will need to be greased up and checked. It drives straight down the road, but again, I have never checked and just letting you know. History, ect- I purchased this car two and a half years ago. It has sat in my garage and sees very little time on the road. I mainly use it to pick up the kids from school when its sunny out, and maybe to a movie. But since i have owned it, I would bet I havent put over 200 miles on it. The gentleman I bought it from had it for 6 years and it sat in his garage. He told me he had bought it for his son, who signed up for the military, went overseas, and had never driven it. Beyond that, I dont know. Who ever had it, took very good car of it and i would guess stored it inside. Ask any questions and I will answer in a prompt and honest answer. Thanks
