Vehicle Detail
I am finally going to sell my BMW 325ix. Everytime I try to sell it I drive and I change my mind. I will not drive the car until I list it or someone want to test drive it. I have owned this fine car since 2005. I am the third owner. When I bought the car it needed some major work, and I did everything it needed to make it run like it is supposed to right off the German assembly line. The first thing I had to replace was the front drive train. The next thing was the cluttch, and it continues. front struts, bilstein shocks, Timimg belt, even the oil. The car run like a top. I drove it daily to my 3 mile drive to work. I had a minor fender bender in the front end you should be able to see in the photos. A tree branch also fell on the trunk, but I have a red 325ix red replacement trunk ready for it. I even had the radio rebuilt because I wanted to keep the car as original as possible. I finally park the car when it would pass inspection because of the dent on the hood. I thought it was wrong over such a minor dent and I protested by parking the car and driving a X3. All the work paid off In January of 2010. When Washington DC got almost two feet of snow. I waited five year and thousands of dollars to experience what that car did, and it was worth every penny of it. It's probably why I still have it. Okay, back to the car. The car does need some work. It's time to replace the timing belt, and water pump, and recently the battery light has come on. I'm not sure what the battery light is on for but I'm guessing its the battery. I did charge the battery and it started right up, but it doesn't seemed to hold the charge as long. I have the timing belt and water pump in the trunk. It does have a little rust showing up on the rear quater panel that will need to be addresed. The front seats need work, but the back ones are near perfect. The left passenger window is not working., and the key side to the driverside door is wearing out, so I never use it to lock the door, but opening it is fine. I know I'm in this car for upward of $5,000 not including what I paid for it. I really like the car and one my mecanics thought I should have sold it before puting all the money in it. I had a good paying job at the time, and it was fun. My loss could be your gain. Take up where I left off and you will have a very fine collectible car, that is also really really fun to drive. The buyer is responsible for shipping. If the timing belt and water pump are change I'm sure the car could be driven home. The speedometer is not working, but would estimate the mileage around 165k or less. The car has been sitting for over a year and it hasn't leaked one drop of oil.
