Vehicle Detail
1971 Chevelle Heavy Chevy, factory 350 4spd Car, i bought this car from the original owners wife after he died with the intentions of building the car back to the way it came from the factory. The car was bought new in mississippi and the ever since then the car has been a drag car, the factory motor came out and a big block went it once he got it home from the dealer, the car only has 15K original miles, which is a quarter mile at a time, the car was raced all across the south at just about ever big event up until the early 90's when the car was retired in the garage because the owner had just gotten to old to drive it, and it has been sitting their ever since i got it. All of which i have just said is the story that the original owners wife told me. She also said that the car was in fact a real Heavy Chevy from the factory because she remembered the big strip that went down the side of the car and the badging from when they bought it, which the car raced with up until the late 70's when the paint and marking on it that you see in the pictures where put on. With that the car is one of only 6,727 heavy chevys built in 1971. The car is a factory small block 350 because it still retains its sticker that says it under the hood on the core support. The car was a factory sandalwood color with black interior. The car does in fact have rust and some of the panels have been cut out and changed with lighter aluminum for racing. All the rust in the car is in all the normal places, so their is nothing to hide. If you ever have built one of these cars you know just what areas i am talking about. The rust is nothing major, the car is certainly not a basic case and is actually a real good body to build. All the rust appears to be minimum and can be fixed with the small patches that you can get from yearone. As far as the areas that have been cut out and changed with aluminum, i know that the entire floor was cut out and replaced with aluminum, why they did that i have no clue other then to save weight back in the day. So other then the normal small patches from yearone the car is certainly going to need a entire floor pan. As for the trunk i have a picture of it, to show you that it is in good condition, as well the inner quarter of the car on the back. The car is going to make a great piece for someone to restore back to the original heavy chevy that it was. Their is no motor or transmission with the car, but it does have a 12 bolt posi rearend. The car is for sale locally and is subject to be taken off. The car is also sold as is with no warrenty. A 25% deposit is due within 3 days of the auction end and the balance within 7 more when the car is to be picked up or arrangments are made for the car to be shipped. If you have any questions about the car please fill free to ask i will gladly answer them to the best of my ability. Thanks Kody 251-454-5455
