Sweet '81 Cruiser! Well, I've owned this cruiser since 1998. I bought it off of an older couple who had purchased it brand new. I have put a ton of work into it, and have enjoyed it. Thanks for looking! Body/Exterior: -The rear quarter panels, front floor boards, rear bed, and bottoms of the rear ambulance door metal has all been completely replaced with solid 1/8" steel diamond plate. This is custom work, and looks fantastic. There is one area just below the driver's side door that was dented before painting. The entire floor has been sprayed with bedliner. -Custom tailgate made from 1/8" steel diamond plate to match quarter panels when the top is off. -Both front fenders were replaced with brand new material from Cool Cruisers of Texas. The passenger's side has a very small dent in it -Original color was white. I did have a $2,800 paint job done (interior and exterior) in 1999. It has peeled a little in small areas and is fading some now. But overall the color is still doing ok, and still turns heads on the highway! -The front doors shut smoothly, with no body damage. I have replaced all of the weatherstripping around the edges of all four doors. No problems rolling up/down the windows. All glass is original exept the windshield. No chips or cracks in any of the glass. - Custom front and rear bumbers and brush gaurd (powder coated schedule 40 steel)! Built-in shackles front and back. and receiver on back. These are rock solid! -New 33"x 12.50 BF GFG All-Terrain Tires and spare. Only have 5,000 miles on them. -Aftermarket "Aussie" style side mirrors. -Bikini top -Rear jump seats have new foam and are reapholstered with very nice soft leather. The passenger's side does have a small puncture hole in the edge (see photo). -Brand new leather headliner installed. -New lockable Tuffy center console -Heavy duty custom walk off mat material laid over the entire tub. This has been so nice to keep from scratching up the bed. -Roll bar covers from Spector Off Road. -Everything electrically works except the horn, interior dome light and radio. New aftermarket front blinkers, and rear tail lights. -New 3" Old Man Emu suspension system (best for FJ-40's) This $2,000 kit includes leaf springs, shackles, nitro charger gas pressurized shocks, and steering stabilizer. -Chevy V8 350 engine I purchased brand new in 1999 and had professionally installed with the proper conversion kit. This engine only has 10,000 miles on it. It sounds great and runs even better! New Edlebrock Performer 600 carb with electric choke, New Edelbrock Aluminum intake manifold, chrome Edelbrock head covers and air filter. 4 speed manual transmission is stock. 4 wheel drive works great. - Custom dual exhaust which terminates just behind the front doors. -Heater works great. Stock rear center console heater was removed. -Just completed installing new front tie rod ends ordered from Cool Cruisers. -All brakes are fairly new, and work fine.
