This is a 1984 chevy S-10 DIESEL extended cab 5 speed manual. It started life as a 85. Someone in Illinois junked this rare truck. There were less than 200 diesel extended cabs built in 1985. The white is the original color and the red and black is from a donor truck. The box and rear end were gone from the original truck, the motor was there but it was junk. All S-10 diesel specific parts were put on another 2.2 diesel to get it running again. New injectors, new timing belt, new rear main seal, and a new clutch setup were installed in that time also. Another 4:11 correct rear axle was installed.The 85 diesel cab with all its original wiring was used and all works as the factory intended, even the original cruise control works. The dash is perfect, the under hood A/C parts go with the truck however the compressor needs to be installed,but all parts are there. It starts, runs,shifts, stops and drives well and is rated for 35mpg. The body is real good and the minimal rust it had was cut out and new metal was mig welded in and finished with 2k urethane primer. It is very close to being ready for paint or could be used as a econo cruiser as is. This rare truck was saved with a eye towards keeping it original.
