Range Rover with 130k miles. Running(barely) but needs ignition work. All drive train in excellent working order. Air suspension has been rebuilt and works perfectly. This Range Rover was my summer time boat pulling, winter weather driving and utility machine. It was running and driving perfectly when I parked it two weeks ago. Unexplainably, now it’s misfiring and pinging so bad that it sounds like the engine is trying to destroy itself and likely has some ignition timing related problem – cam sensor? The problem is intermittent and there's nothing in the oil so I'm pretty sure it's purely electrical. Perhaps it’s just jealous that I’m driving my summer car. Life is too crazy right now and I simply do have the time to diagnose it further. This will make a great off road or trailering machine for someone! The Good: This RR did go anywhere with amazing off road and winter weather handling. All wheel drive and 4 low work perfectly. Oversized tires with decent tread left. It pulled my 3500lb boat with ease: lots of torque and very strong ABS brakes. Burns no oil ever. The air suspension has been overhauled and is the coolest feature of this truck. I’ve repaired, rebuilt, or fortified nearly all of the known range rover defects that plagued these vehicles including most oil leaks and electrical gremlins. Includes service manual and air suspension software. The Bad: Something isn’t right with the engine control and it cannot be driven as is. The truck is respectable and rust free but it does have plenty of small dings, scratches, and paint oxidation. It has never been in an accident, but there's a small dent below the trim on the driver's door. I bought this vehicle from a narcotics auction and it turns out that drug dealers don’t take the best care of their vehicles. However, I do take precise care and reversed a lot of the neglect. The interior is OK but the dash is cracked and the headliner is sagging. Right rear ABS sensor is out so while the ABS still works(!?), the traction and cruise control does not. The right rear window doesn’t go down and the A/C needs to be charged. It needs a battery. The Range is also quite dirty. In a hurry, I parked it covered in dirt and now can't move it out of my barn to clean it properly. How embarrassing. The pictures are limited as it's tough to get clear shots of it around the old barn beams.
