Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a very well maintained original, correct, rust free 1954 Kaiser Manhattan Sedan. The odometer reads approximately 96,000 miles. Because of the age of this car it will be sold as “exempt” for mileage disclosure purposes. This car was purchased from a regional president of the Kaiser Club in 2010, and currently resides in the collection of a wealthy Denver area investor/collector. It is being offered for sale for the first time. It is equipped with the 226 cubic inch in-line 6 cylinder 140 HP McCulloch super- charged engine, and Hydramatic automatic transmission. The upholstery is original. Other options include the extremely rare Kaiser Wire wheels and crests. These 4 wheels are very rare indeed. An aftermarket air conditioner was added several years ago. The chrome and bright work are in great condition. Comes with an extra rear windshield. This design was noted for its handling, with the center of gravity being 22 inches from the ground. Total weight was 3375 lbs. The Kaiser was also the first car with a padded dashboard, rear seat padding, and a pop-out windshield designed to release at 40 psi. The 1948 Tucker was the only other US built car with this feature. The 1954 Kaiser represents the last and most radical restyling of the 1951 Howard Darrin design. Total production was 4,110, with all cars being built at the Kaiser-Willy’s plant in Toledo, Ohio. Kaiser ceased US operations in 1955, with production continuing in Argentina until 1962. This is a nice, solid original car that is meant to be driven and enjoyed. It is not a “trailer queen”, and is not represented as being such. So few of these cars have survived, so if you want a forgotten piece of American automobile history, here is your chance for a very modest price. Inquiries are welcome. The car is available for inspection in Englewood, Colorado. It comes with a clean Colorado title. I am a licensed Colorado automobile dealer. The price includes a 60 temporary license plate. Buyers outside of Colorado will not pay Colorado sales tax. You may contact me at 303-570-9875, or email at michaelboyce@comcast.net. We can assist you with shipping if required. Sold as-is, where is with no warranties expressed or implied. Payment must be completed within 5 days of auction close. Acceptable forms of payment are cashiers check, cash, or bank wire transfer. Thank you for your interest, and good luck bidding. This is a fine opportunity for the right buyer.
