Please do not bid if you don't intend to complete the deal per the contract. Action will be taken. I apologize to all you legitimite bidders/buyers, but I am forced to relist due to a scammer bidder who ruined the purchase for a true buyer. Continental US (No Puerto Rico etc.) Bidders Only!! Buyers or Bidders with less than 5 Postive Feedbacks without contacting me BEFORE BIDDING. Your Bid will be removed. About the Car... It's a great price. Bid NOW TO WIN!!! For sale a 74 VW (final year) Karmann Ghia Coupe, produced in late 8 or 10/73 I forget off the top of my head. It's complete and mostly original and intact AND runs and drives. It had been sitting in a carport for about a year because of a fuel leak. (It was disconnected!) I fixed it with all new metal & oem fabric lines/clamps, fuel filter. The car has about 106k miles per the clear NJ title and what history the owner gave me. She owned it for about 3 or 4 years, since 2006, and bought it from a guy in Virginia Beach. The car was originally Green w/beige interior. It’s was painted Red by a PO. The PO added a rear seat, which this model year did not come with from the factory and changed the dash, removing the dash cover and installing a complete set of VDO gauges like a race car, speedo, tach, oil, temp, fuel. It also has an aftermarket 4 spoke steering wheel (ripped) with oem VW logo for horn button has original horns, but not connected). The PO blacked out the bumpers and trim and put in seats (not bolted) from a late model unknown Japanese car. Other than that it looks to me to be original. I had the car running and idling in late December and was able to drive it down the street and into my back yard for the winter, so it drives too. While the car is a project, I’ve done my best to include pictures (Review the pics) of the car and summarize things “I” think it needs or could use depending on how far you want to go with it. The key thing is you could easily make it a driver and take as far as “You” want to based on your taste/budget. Needs · Brakes – (?) No fluid in reservoir tank. Probably a leak in the line or brake cylinders. · Gauges – Complete set. All VDO original, but I don’t know if they work. Optional Needs · Floors - They do have a few holes, but they aren't real big and I planned on patching and POR 1, but are complete and in good shape. They DO NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED, to save some $$. This is why I bought the car, but this is up to the owner to replace or repair. Mostly small or pin size holes with a few larger holes 1/2 " x 4" or so. · Body/Paint – it's a project but looks good from 20 ft away. Generally the body could use some work, but it’s not required. It has a couple of dents the pass front fender by the headlight, driver rear quarter under the rear window, typical rust on the lower edge of the engine lid, though not through and the pass bottom rear qtr needs replacement. I'm no body guy, but that's what I see other than a few rust bubbles in spots. · Rubber Seals - Many of the window and rubber seals are dry and could use typical replacement but are intact on the car. · Windshield – has a star in it. Highlights · Shifter – Original SCAT Drag Fast shifter. · Nose- nose looks pretty clean without any prior damage (RARE). · Rims/Tires - It also has BRAND NEW 185/65/15 GOODYEAR TIRES ON NICE RIVIERA RIMS $$$$. · Vent Windows – has the rare rear vent windows · Seats - I bought a set of OEM Stock Seats to replace the non stock ones that are available. Summary This is a rare car to find, especially here on the East coast that’s not rusted out totally or a shell and offered at a great price $$$. This car is running and drives and can be made a driver easily and restore as you go. It's the perfect solution for low cost buy and use with the opportunity to make it as perfect as you and your wallet decide. I've tried to be as up front as possible and tell you whatever I know about the car and describe it truthfully. I'm in the Princeton/Trenton area if you want to schedule time to see it in person. Since I've had other questions please remember this car is a project and will need to be towed due to the lack of brake fluid etc. Please don't expect to drive it home. In respect for your time and mine, I will only reply to serious enthusiast bids/offers. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS OR INTEND TO COMPLETE THE DEAL PER THE CONTRACT! Only Continental US buyers! (You will be responsible for all shipping and costs) Thanks A quick update... I was able to start the car from it's winter storage and get the engine idling on it's own. So, I confirmed it does indeed run. I have a video I will try to post tonight. On Apr-18-11 at 07:04:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to confirm if not obviously clear from the description above from some questions I've received to date. This car is a project!!. It probably won't take much at all, but you should not expect to get in and drive the car home. Although it has run and been driven on the property you will need to tow it, as it has no brake fluid and I have no idea what shape it would be in to drive this 37 year old car. The vehicle is being SOLD AS IS with no warranty expressed or implied.
