Selling another of my good friend Mr. Tony Bittner's personal car collection. Tony has built and raced hundreds of cars in his 74 years. He has had cars on magazine covers back in the 50's and his BBC engines have been in many magazine cars over the years. He mentors many young enthusiasts in the racing hobby including me, and I am very proud to call Tony my friend. His son Jeff has followed in his footsteps and has had several cars listed in national car magazines.Tony rubbed elbows with the likes of Don Garlits, Micky Thompson and many other true founders of our beloved motor sports. After his tour in the USAF he went out to Utah to attend BYU where we worked towards two degrees, Physics and Mechanical Engineering. While in Utah, he fell deeper into the racing bug over the salt flats where he met and raced with all the legends of the dry lakes.He completed his education and moved his wife and young children to Florida where he opened his own engineering business. Tony and his partner created many inventions that were secured by patents. He continued this business while running a Speed Shop for young racers and boaters. He actually built his own sailboat in his speed shop! He and his family sailed this boat all through the islands for years. (He can do/achieve absolutely anything he sets his mind too). One of his second loves is the water and boating. He set many speed records in Florida with his Jersey Speed Skifs. Tony sold his business in Florida and returned to Pennsylvania to care for his parents and live a slower lifestyle. He continued to build many cars over these past 25 years. He raced a '55 Straight Axle Bel Air. This monster ran deep into the 8's with a blown alcohol 496 that he also drove around on the streets. Not many people can build a streetable 8 second car unless they use gobs of N2O to keep the motor docile enough to run the street...Tony can design and build 8 sec street motors all day long. He built his grandson a 1932 5 window, wide 5 quick change, 3 deuce 350. He is currently building a 67' Chevy II Straight axel race car.He has built Blown Alcohol BBC for Monster Trucks, Quick 8 cars, Dirt track cars etc. He currently builds many BBC engines for local racers, speed boats, river boats and pleasure boats in our local area of Pennsylvania. Currently, Tony is selling one of his latest builds. This Chevelle was being built to run in the no-electronic 4-speed class at our local drag strip. Tony wanted to get back to his racing roots...unfortunately a set of bad knees are going to keep Tony away from 4-speed racing. Tony states this car is an excellent driver the way it sits, he just can not drive it, has less than 4 miles since completed a couple weeks ago. To be a true show car condition it is about 90%.
