Vehicle Detail
Very clean, original TWO-OWNER 1974 MGB Convertible roadster. This is a very clean, straight MG that lived all of its life in California until it relocated to NV in 2000. It is still a daily driver and most fun roadster to drive down Big Sur. 31K original miles , and its condition reflects it. SOLID, clean floorboards, body and undercarriage, as a California car should always be~! The original engine is completely stock, never altered or modified in any way. It has been maintained well throughout its long life, as a lot of items look to have been reconditioned or rebuilt as time passed ( alternator, starter, brakes, tires, radiator, etc). Additionally, it had the motor rebuilt in January of 2002. At that time, a new clutch was also installed, a new water pump, new motor mounts, radiator overhauled, an auxiliary oil cooler installed, and full servicing of all fluids done as well. Most recently, it had a new ANSA exhaust sytem ordered from MOSS Motors installed less than six months ago, and it sounds nice and very sporty. It runs VERY WELL, with excellent compression and no overheating or engine noises. Properly-done WEBER conversion in place of the troublesome and unreliable SU carburetors. Its original four-speed manual transmission shifts very well into all forward and reverse gears, without chatter, crunching, slippage or hesitation. It had a NEW clutch ( NOT remanufactured) installed and flywheel refinished a year ago, all with MOSS-supplied UK Unipart parts ( including pressure plate, disc and pilot bearing). No differential noises. Brakes stop fine and right on the spot ( actually GREAT for an MG!). No steering pulling or noises. New brake master cylinder three years ago. The original bodywork is in remarkable condition for a 1974-year B. The body is in EXCELLENT condition, with no rust or dents. Still retains its original tan/ khaki color ( I believe it's BL code is called " Harvest Gold" ) which still shines after all these years. I was refinished once in its original tone, and it has ALWAYS been this color. The paintwork shines nicely. The interior's upholstery is in very good condition for an MG of this vintage. There is a small snag on the corner of the passenger seat. The leatherette is very clean, and sound, as pictured. NICE, clean black carpeting throughout. Original MG vintage rubber floormats included. BEAUTIFUL water-repellent convertible cloth-top like the originals, NOT the cheap aftermarket plastic/ canvas convertible tops made in China. It is in excellent condition. Original B wheels with nearly-new radial tires ( 95% or better). New carpet kit for the rear as well, with a clean, full-size spare tire, jack, original owner's manual and receipt for the engine rebuilding, along with other manuals. NICE CD player ( easily removed if you wish to go back to the stock look). Overall, a very sound, fairly original and unrestored, solid MG B convertible with low miles. CLEAR Nevada title. For all serious bidders, this roadster is being offered with a very modest opening bid and a low, reasonable reserve. The MGB is also being currently advertised in other venues. I reserve the right to end the auction early if a sale comes through or an offer presents itself with a BUY-IT-NOW, prior to the end of the auction. This roadster runs, drives and handles GREAT, the way it should. It sounds even better! Compare to ANY MG Bs listed on Ebay~! Feel free to EM or call me if you have questions (650) 430-4660 PST. * Due to the number of non-paying bidders, I regret to inform that I will not be able to accept bids from anyone with zero feedback. If you are interested in bidding, you MUST contact me prior to placing any bids; otherwise, I will cancel your bid and block you from further bidding. Payment is to be received within three days from the end of the auction, please. Cashier's check or money order are accepted methods of payment. Personal, Business or C.C checks may also be accepted, but they will need to clear funds thru CHASE Bank prior to any transportation arrangements being made. Additionally, a Bank wire transfer may be utilized, as it helps expedite delivery of the MG. It shall be made to our local CHASE Bank branch in San Mateo. Finally, PAYPAL is an option if a BUY-IT-NOW is agreed upon between seller and buyer, prior to the end of the auction. PLEASE make sure you ask all and any pertinent questions, prior to placing a bid, not afterwards. I will be glad to arrange and/ or coordinate delivery of this B anywhere in the U.S or overseas. It will be done with your approval, at the most economical shipping rate available. Thank you for your interest.!
