Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a nice, original 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. The car is an original Illinois vehicle with 77,600 miles. The title is in hand and clear, and the car is ready to be sold with no reserve. I purchased the car a few months ago with the intention of fixing it up and taking it to car shows, but those plans have changed, and the car needs to be sold. Exterior: The exterior of the car is in beautiful shape. There is hardly and rust on the car, except for one spot behind the rear wheel on the driver side, which I have included a picture of. The light blue paint is in great shape, no fading or peeling clear coat. The vinyl top is in great shape, no holes or rips, it could almost be considered mint. There might be a few dings in the chrome trim here and there, and some scuffing on the trim bumpers. There aren't any noticable dents or dings on the car itself. All lights are in working condition, and none of the lenses are cracked or broken. There is also no missing trim, everything is there. Tires are OK now, but will probably need to be replaced shortly. Interior: The dark blue interior of the car is also in great shape. Interior has power windows, power locks, power seats, power antenna. Has the upgraded LS interior with power driver and passenger seat. Has all four matching floor mats as well. Headliner is in great shape, no sagging or holes in it. Seats don't have any rips or tears. All the door panels are intact and in good shape. The rear seat has the arm rest that folds down. The dash is in great shape, with no cracking or holes. Car has the automatic climate control. Car has the manuals and (2) sets of keys. All (4) power windows work, and all the locks work, however you need to manually lock some doors, but they do lock. Engine Compartment: The car has the 5.0 liter fuel injected V-8 that fires right up with the turn of a key. Idles smoothly, and has lots of power. You'll be going down the road and look down and you'll be doing 80 before you know it! There is no leaking fluid or oil of any kind. Engine compartment is clean, belts and hoses look OK. The oil change has been changed and is good for a couple thousand more miles. Air conditioning has been updated to R134A. Air conditioning works, but believe it needs to be recharged to be ice cold. I'm sure it could use a tune down the road sometime, but for the moment runs fine, no known issues. Transmission shifts fine through all the gears. Problems: With any car that is 20 years old, it's going to have some problems. The heat has never worked since I've owned it, and I've never had it checked out. Could be a thermostat or heater core, never had it checked out so the car has no heat. Also both front power seats are not working, could be a fuse? Never bothered me because both power seats are in an OK spot where I didn't have to have them adjusted and I'm 6'. Power antenna is not working and the trip odometer is not working either. Air bag light also comes on and goes off sometimes too. Sometimes it will be on, then it won't be on for awhile. Never bothered to have it looked at. Also front rotors will need turned in the near future. Don't get me wrong, this is still a good running, driving car, and the ride is amazing. It drives so nice. Terms and Conditions: OK, here is the fine print. Car is sold strictly AS-IS, WHERE-IS, there are NO warranties implied or expressed. I'm listing the car because I want to sell it. I'm not listing it because I want to play games with non-paying bidders that think they need to bid and then not pay. By bidding, you are accepting responsibility to purchase the item once the auction ends. I believe I have listed the car fairly, and have taken the problems that it has into consideration. I'm leaving for Colorado at the beginning of May and would like to have the car sold before then. I'm asking that bidders with a score of 10 or less, to please contact me before bidding so I know that you are serious about buying. I ask that a deposit of $100 be made 48 hours after the auction has ended, through Paypal. I then ask that the remaining balance be paid in full, 7 days after the auction has ended. You can either pay the remaining balance with Paypal or cash upon pick-up, it's your choice, but I will not accept checks of any kind. If there is no deposit made, I will file a non-paying bidder dispute through ebay and car will be relisted. I hate to have these rules, but due to the number of non-paying bidders out there, I need to include this within my auction listing. It can be simple, if you don't have the money, or can't get the money, please don't bid. I just want to sell the car, that's it. I will NOT ship the car, car will need to be picked up locally in Geneseo, IL 61254, Henry County, Illinois. Geneseo is located right on I-80, mile marker 19. Buyer will need to bring their own plates, because the ones that are on the car belong to me. Overall the car is in great shape, and I have been driving it since I've bought it with no problems other than what's expressed in the listing. But again, car is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS! Thanks for looking and don't hesitate to ask questions.
