Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on one of the vehicles in my personal collection. I purchased several years ago from a gentleman who had a relative in the US NAVY. It has a very rare specific bronze plaque reflecting the commission of the vehicle and the specifics when it was built. it is a beautiful original piece of history and ive never seen another one. When I purchased the vehicle it was in in a grey primer , with the navy stock numbers on the doors. I stripped the car to the bare metal and it is almost 100% rust free. I left it as is with only little repairs here and there, and left otherwise original dents on the trunk. i repainted with epoxy primer and put a coat of clear, and had it relettered just as it was originally. the bed has new pressure treated wood. the entire undercarriage was blasted and painted by hand with black chassis paint, and some details in gm blue and red orange. there is no rust absolutely on the frame. the tires are new, and the rims were blasted and painted black. no rust on wheel either. redid the brakes and shocks. the engine was taken out and cleaned completely, with a wire brush and steam, and completely hand detailed. it is a 216 motor. and it has a four speed manual transmission. it runs as original. it is not a souped up hot rod. It is a old motor, but it is of the period, not meant to go 80 on the highway. Truck does start well, as I had converted to 12 volt. I can include the original generator if the winner wants it. the door panels are new, and the glass is decent. the interior also shows no rust but it is very original. center cap of steering wheek is stainless steel and I had it polished to best of my ability. it is a nice truck. the bench was also recovered with blk upholstery , but I do not remember when. it looks good. I also have an envelope with service records of several vehicles and mention of this truck and others by apparently someone in the san diego base where this vehicle spent its life.' it is an interesting piece of history but I need to start selling things, I have too much, its time for someone else to enjoy. happy bidding, please forward all questions and bid with confidence. if you want to email me your phone number I will not post it and I will call you. On Apr-19-11 at 14:42:36 PDT, seller added the following information: AT THIS POINT I WILL NOT END THE AUCTION . THANKS TO THOSE WHO EMAILED OFFERS. IT IS MY POLICY HOWEVER NOT TO END AUCTIONS NEAR THE END AS IT IS UNFAIR TO BIDDERS. PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE AND BID TO WIN. ALSO THERE IS A MISSPELLING IN THE AUCTION, THE WORD TRUNK, SHOULD BE "TRUCK" On Apr-20-11 at 20:08:20 PDT, seller added the following information: A KIND EBAYER WROTE ME AN EMAIL AND HERE ARE SOME EXERPTS:Nice truck and close to what it was. FYI the 'bronze plaque' is the normal brass Navy Dept tag that came into use in '52, called a data tag in military vehicle circles. The gray paint would have been flat gray or weathered gray paint, salt air in Diego does that. The 94-10816 is the Navy registration number and is the pattern that came about in 1950 and still used today, it is called hood numbers by some and totally different than Army or Air force. It could have also been on the roof above the window or tail gate.
