1974 Super Beetle. The car has been heavily customized. It’s been enhanced with a multi-component kit including wide front and rear fenders with custom fitted halogen headlamps and taillights, elaborate body side skirts and rocker panel accents. The kit also includes a simulated louvered hood . Following the installation the entire body was repainted in a multiple coat process with excellent results. All the pin striping you see has been meticulously hand painted. The official colour of the car is “Tangelo Orange”. For a 37 year old car the body work’s in great shape. Just a few nicks in the paintwork here and there. There is one large scratch of about 8 inches under the whale tail. The tail can be removed for repair. Also one minor scuff on the front passenger side. All glass is clear and in great condition. No cracks anywhere. The interior was custom upholstered in high quality materials including the seats, door panels, and upgraded carpet. A custom colour coordinated console with 4 inch screen was also installed. An updated Sony AM/FM/CD player has also been installed with multiple Boston Acoustic speakers in the kicker panels. The small TV screen can be wired to the deck. The steering wheel is full wood - spokes and rim. There are billet aluminum window regulator handles, door release handles and arm rests. The gear stick is a Scat B&M shifter with a reverse lock out feature. The canvas top is of high quality and in excellent condition. The headliner is excellent. NO LEAKS!! The rear window is glass. The engine is 1600cc, has been rebuilt and has just over 34000 miles on it. It has twin Dellorto 40 carbs and heavily accented chrome, polished aluminum and polished stainless steel components have been installed. It has a high energy ignition system with a 009 distributor. It has an extra deep oil sump. There is a high quality EMPI in line fuel filter just behind the engine bay. All gauges work. The wipers are fully functioning 2 speed with intermittent wipe as well. The suspension is stock with premium shock absorbers and the wheels are forged aluminum alloy with coordinated centres. BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires all round. There are disc brakes front and back. The floor pan is in excellent shape with no signs of rust. Since coming into my possession I’ve had the following work done. All of which I have receipts for except the last 3 which I did myself. Nice unobtrusive custom front and rear bumpers have been installed. A custom made bar has been installed by a hot rod specialist in the rear cargo area. This is for 3 point rear seat belts. The rear seat belts are non retractable but retractable reel inertia belts can be added easily. NO MORE LAP BELTS!!!. Much safer – especially if you’re taking the kids for a spin!!!!! The carbs were cleaned and rebuilt in July last year and the electrics inspected. It has new points and the carbs have been tuned and balanced. A new European muffler with twin tapered chrome exhaust pipes has replaced an RX Exhaust header. The RX will be included in the sale of the vehicle. New starter motor and flywheel installed. Door solenoid has been updated and rewired New universal windshield washer system installed New wiper blades and trunk liner added Sound deadening material has been installed in the rear cargo area. Fresh rubber trim has been added to the engine bay and the rear quarter glass. PAYMENT Now the business side of things. I’ve disclosed as much as I can about the car, good and bad.
