up for bids is a 1962 chevrolet impala ss clone sport coupe. overall the car is driver quality. over the 27 years ive owned it ive repaired or rebuilt everything. the car started out as an original 283 powerglide car. it now sports a fully rebuilt 327 with rebuilt 4spd t-10 with corvette clutch. as you can see in the pics everything isnt original. the interior is out of a 64 impala and is in near mint cond. the interior trim is near mint as well. the console is out of a 63 impala and has an ss grab bar that is correct and mint. and as you can see all of it pieces together very nicely and looks great. overall the body is pretty clean does have some bubbleing and some touchups here and there, the floors are clean and rust free as you can also see in the pics. it drives very nice just floats down the road. every part in the suspension front end and brakes has been replaced or rebuilt 4wheel drum brakes stop excellent it has power brakes and steering. all the lights work including interior dome lights about the only thing doesnt work is the speedo never figured out why. has newer exhaust has an alternator setup with all new wiring harnesses throughout. as far as the motor it is a 327 4 bolt main .30 over mild cam and a rebuilt original to engine quadra jet 4bbl runs very nice and good power with the 4spd behind it. flowmaster exhaust no noises clunks or rattles. pretty much everything has been done except a little body work and paint (was painted 25 years ago still shows decent). the trim on the car is orig non ss with the ss tape over it except the rear tail light cove trim which is all new SS reproduction trim with the swirls in it. all new door handles i also have all the side mouldings and many other parts for sale for this car for extra $$ of course. new headliner and carpet. also has ss emblems and the plastic in the hood and trunk trim is replaced and the chrome itself is mint in the past 27 years ive worked on it and driven it proabably less than 10k. motor and trans has less than 3k. on it. the few minor issues are the little bit of body work and it needs a rear main seal it leaks a little bit. it also has a clarion cd player under the dash with 4 6x9s in the new rear deck panel. the glass is all excellent except the wing windows which are ok but have bubbeling in it. window trim is in real nice shape heat works well and she runs cool with new 4 core radiator and heater core. good car to cruise the summer in and finish off whenever you want. has ss spinner hubcaps that are in nice shape with newer bfg t/a tires. all floors are solid and trunk is excellent. has 409 emblems on it kind of as a wish of what i wanted to do to it one day. i have a rebuildable 425hp 409 with dual quad setup if your interested. overall see the pics if you have any questions please email me. ive just decided to finish restoring my 59 convt and let this one go. if you would like to see it in person please email me your number and i will call you to set it up. if you dont have permission from mom girlfriend wife etc etc.... please dont waste my time. if you have bad feedback or bad intentions please dont waste my time. ive garaged this car since ive owned it. thanks and good luck.On Apr-05-11 at 19:34:15 PDT, seller added the following information: i also wanted to add i had the bumpers rechromed triple plated about 6 years ago cost a fortune. also has a mint condition grille guardOn Apr-06-11 at 18:56:09 PDT, seller added the following information: couple of things i forgot i have pics now of the bubbeling send me your email address if you would like to see them. also car was in florida until 1982. the exterior mirrors are new. also as far as the 409 goes im looking for 6-7k for it with the hi po heads and original dual quad setup. to buy just the heads you could spend 3k and another 2k for the quads setup. heads are also matched to eachother number wise. 126k approx original
