READY FOR SUMMER CRUISIN' with the top down!!!! This car is PURE FUN to drive...period. Here we go boys and girls! This is a RARE OPPORTUNITY to own a classic Mustang Convertible with a ridiculously low reserve. This is your chance! Don't miss out on this one. I bought this car from the second owner as my 15 year old daughter's first car. She absolutely loved it but I had to realize the lack of safety features and want my daughter in a newer, safer car. I have been driving it (and continue to drive it 12 miles every day to and from work) and I have fell in love with it. As you can see, this is a driver (hence the reason why I didnt vaccum the carpet or wash it for the pictures!) Like they say, if you love someone (or thing in this case) let it go! Here are the good facts: You Mustang guys can decipher the VIN. As you can see this is a 90% original Mustang. I can give you the original door tag numbers if you contact me. The previous owner bought a new top but did not want to takle the job. I put on the top and new back window vinyl. The power top works perfectly and is brand new. The engine had a miss on #1 cylinder. After further investigation, it was a stuck intake valve. I am not a "band-aide" mechanic so the original engine was 100% rebuilt with everything done right (inquire for specifics and/or receipts), painted the original colors and returned to the engine bay. The engine has approximately 500 miles on the rebuild and simply runs PERFECT. I would drive this car anywhere!!! (mainly because it is such a hoot to drive with the top down!!!) Original Cruise-O-Matic was professionally rebuilt New carburetor New Alternator New Starter New fuel tank and sender New ACC Carpet for the interior $200 just spent on a professional front end alignment and new tires. The car was out of alignment and wore the front tires bald. It has new blackwall tires on front and nearly new white walls on the back (looks sort of goofy with blackwalls on the front but my focus was reliability first so I didn't complain at the shop). It tracks down the road PERFECTLY like it should and has the right amount of play in the steering wheel. Rebuilt brakes Now for the not so good facts: The car obviously needs some rust repair as indicated in the photos. The best part is that the front frame rails and shock towers are SOLID. The rear frame rails are starting to get rusty but still solid. The previous owner did some rust repair on the floor pan using galvanized steel. It is a good repair...just not a good looking repair. The right way, of course is to repair the rust (that was cut out) with new, correct floor pan sections. It works but it is a very "utilitarian" repair. The fuel gauge works intermittently and acts like a loose wire. I simply haven't had time to trace the wire from the new fuel sender and fix it. The seats are from a 1968 Mustang. If you want the original seats, I will give them to the winning bidder. The frames on the original seats are good but they do need recovered. The 1968 seats were almost identical but still are not correct if you do a concourse restoration (but they were FREE after I replaced a quarter panel on my friend's 68 Mustang). They have some bad seems and small tears as indicated in the photos. The car was originally a pretty rare Gold color (I can send all the data numbers if you want them from the original door tag). Some knucklehead did a "scuff and spray" job and it is now a peeling red color. In my opinion, to return this car to its original color would be the way to go! The front bumper is rusty. I have 2 decent original bumpers I will give the winning bidder a rust free/straight ORIGINAL bumper (not Chinese made garbage they are making now). To wrap it up, I can say, once again, that this car is mechanically sound and I continue to drive it EVERYDAY to work. Even with the rust spots, it still gets the thumbs up anywhere it is seen. Yes, it needs to have the bodywork and paint done. There are many paths to bring her all the way back you can choose from. Concourse restoration? Restomod? Daily driver? The choice will be yours! I cannot and do not have the time or assets to ship this car. Nice thing about this Mustang is that you could drive it home!!!! I would literally drive this thing across the country because I KNOW what has been done to it. Why take a chance on a "clean" Mustang for $10,000 (and up) when this car has nothing to hide. I will tell you now that I have a VERY LOW reserve on this car. I need to sell it and get my daughter another car for school. $500 deposit due via paypal within 24 hours of end of auction. I am flexible but the car must be paid in full before I release it or the clear Kansas title. I am a no-BS guy as you can see from my feedback. I have had scammers try to take me a couple of times this month so if you treat me right, I will treat you right! If you have ANY questions or want me to email you additional photos, just gimme a shout on my cell phone 785-548-5809 anytime. PLEASE ask any and all questions as I am sure I am forgetting something PRIOR to placing a bid. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!
