Vehicle Detail

Rare 1964 El Camino Every available option. Factory in-dash A/C, dealer installed power windows, power steering, power drum brakes, tilt steering column, deluxe interior trim package, deluxe exterior trim package, tinted windows and positive track rear differential. Firewall mounted trim code plate reads as follows: Style 64-5680 Body EP-2523 Trim 717 Paint 938 K Acc: DEX 2K 3C 5V Rear end housing stamp: ZK223 Exceptional overall condition. Car runs and drives very well and is very dependable. Same adult owner for last 21 years. Hobby car for many years and always kept clean and maintained to a high degree. Always stored in climate controlled basement when not in use. Lifetime Georgia car. Suitable for local car shows and cruises. Here is a short video of the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln5Xx23RS5U Exterior of the car is very nice and shows extremely well. Bright red paint is base/clear that has been polished and is very slick and shiny. Body is acceptably straight and all seams fit well. Doors, hood and tail gate close as they should. All glass is good and fits properly. Paint and body have absolutely no collision damage and are practically void of any typical chips or scratches but they are NOT perfect. There ARE some imperfections here and there but the overall presentation is fantastic. ALL trim and hardware was removed prior to paint and reassembled with all new gaskets. Anything too aged was either re-plated or purchased new. All new lenses, rubber components and weather stripping except vent window rubber and it’s good. The bed is straight and usable for light hauling with black Herculiner rubberized bed coating. Rims are 15 X 7 refurbished OEM Chevy rally’s with refurbished top hats and new steel chrome trim rings. Tires are 215-70-15’s and are near new. Interior is very nice and really stands out with all the optional power equipment. Seat, door panels, headliner, dash pad, carpet, etc are all very nice and show very well. Cabin seals well and is quiet. All latches, handles, knobs, etc. are present and work. Heater/defrost/fan all work correctly and the A/C has been serviced recently and blows cold. Passenger window switch needs new backing connector but both windows work correctly through driver’s master switch. Original radio hole is uncut and contains factory AM radio with Blaupunkt head unit mounted under dash in custom metal enclosure with 6 X 9 Jensen speakers mounted behind seat in custom enclosures. Dash face has been covered with hand cut prism material that looks great and is suitable for the era. Under dash is neat and organized with no wads of loose or unused wiring. All gauges and idiot lights work correctly except clock and an auxiliary AutoMeter temp gauge has been mounted at the top of the left windshield post, next to the sun visor, in a custom enclosure. Mechanically the car runs and drives very well and delivers a very smooth ride. 283 4bbl with a mild street cam, HEI ignition, big tube headers, turbo flow mufflers and 3” pipes all the way back from collectors. It sounds REAL good. Motor fires right up, runs good and is very dependable however, it was rebuilt many years ago and is starting to show its age. Under the hood is neat, organized and very presentable to show with the correct firewall mounted A/C box, correct fan shroud and radiator spacer, no dangling or loose wiring. Engine compartment gets allot of attention at shows/cruises due again to all the power options. Turbo 350 transmission operates as it should and has a performance shift kit. Brakes function well and the front end has been rebuilt recently and feels tight. The underside is mildly detailed for show and has had undercoating applied. I will pass along my file that contains information, notes, maintenance log and EVERY receipt for the car over the last 21 years. In summary, this is a beautiful, unmolested, fully functional El Camino that gets tons of attention everywhere it goes and has always been very dependable for weekend use and "Rod Run" vacations. In all my time of attending car shows/cruise events around the southeast this is the ONLY ‘64 El Camino that I have ever seen with ALL these factory options. I would assume there aren’t too many available. The reserve is set at a very reasonable amount. My intent is to sell the car, not toy with people. I reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason and need $1000 deposit within 24 hours of auction close to secure the car. Good luck and happy bidding! On Apr-08-11 at 18:14:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Attention all watchers and bidders: First I'd like to thank everyone for their interest and for their bids. At this time the car is at $11,001 and I have lowered the reserve to $11,100 so the next bid HITS RESERVE. If you do NOT have the funds readily available to pay for the car, do NOT bid. Thank you and good luck!
