Vehicle Detail

1988 Mazda RX7 convertible This is a driving project car that I just hate to part with but don’t have the time to finish it properly, my loss your gain. The good: Title in hand, happy to let you test drive, I am usually available after 6:00 pm most days. I drive this car occasionally on weekends when time permits, it isn’t perfect, but from 5 feet away it looks pretty good. I was told I am the forth owner. The body is in really good shape for a 22 year old sports car, minor rust inside the trunk, but no structural rust, just surface. The car is ready to sand out and have a good paint job on it. The wheels are the correct factory OEM BBS wheels and comes with the wrench to remove them, as well as the factory jack and spare. This spring I installed a BRAND NEW convertible top on the car, these tops retail for around $450, there are a few minor wrinkles because this was the first convertible top I ever installed, but I saved a load of money doing it myself and it looks good from 5 feet away, not perfect as I said. The seats are not OEM for a RX7 convertible, I removed the original leather seats that had become cracked and weather worn, they were also incredibly hot in the sun, so I purchased a set of 1990 RX7 cloth coupe seat, colors match well and these seat are much more comfortable in the sun with the top down. The car had been lowered and a strut bar installed as well as a cold air intake prior to me purchasing it, all are installed correctly. There is an almost brand new stereo installed, with 4 aftermarket speakers that work very well, as well as the power radio antenna which functions perfectly. The not so good: The bushings on the rear suspension will need to be replaced in the next year; they are worn and make some noise going over big bumps. The injectors will need to be replaced sometime soon as well, they work fine while the car is turned on, but the seals leak back a bit after shutting down the engine and it is possible to flood the car if you aren’t careful restarting right away after shutting down. All in all this is a fun car for a drivable project, I’ve had it two years and it’s put some big grins on my face, if you ever wanted to own a true roadster, this just could be your ticket. I have my car advertised locally, and reserve the right to sell locally if a fair price is offered.
