Location: Denver, CO VIDEO OF STARTUP AND OIL PRESSURE AND EXHAUST SOUND NOW ON FLIKR. USE Link below. 100 Pictures and short video here http://www.flickr.com/photos/50551634@N02/ 1982 Targa that has been prepped for DE, track use and as a result makes a great road car. Weighed the other day at 2570 with a half tank of gas. Overall: This is a fast, quick, stiff, loud SC(look online for videos of other 911s running SSIs and 2 in 2 out). Turns 2:11s at High Plains Raceway. I used the car as my nice weather driver and instructor car. I'm a NASA instructor. Owned for the last five years by PCA enthusiasts. Suspension: Well setup with the Tarett sways.Decambered ball joint22/28 torsion barBilstein HDs in the rear and green Bilsteins up front.Polybronze and Neatrix bushings.Weltmeister Cambermeister front strut braceTarga braces. Aligned less than five months ago. Engine: Original engine was replaced with healthy 1980 3.0 liter was installed by Dart Auto in 2007. Less than 7% leakdown on the motor at the time. Runs great, see below for more details.Semi solid engine mounts. Low pressure oil warning light. Dual thermostatic oil coolers up front with stainless lines. Car runs well and does not overheat even on 95 degree track days. When I bought the car in 2/10 I had new valve cover gaskets put on and they checked for broken head studs and found none. Sounds amazing with the exhaust, ear plugs recco'd for drives over an hour. Chain tensioners upgraded to oil fed.SSI Exhuast2 in 2 out sport mufflerLeaves no drops of oil even after parked for a week. Just shows the slightest weeping from oil drain cover plate. One of the driest 911s I've owned. Gearbox: Shifts fine in all gears. Semi solid transmission mounts. New clutch cable last year. Clutch has 35k miles on it and bites great. Brakes: Stock discs all around in fine shape.Stainless brake lines. Rear pads are fine. Could use new front pads. (I will put new pads in for buyer if desired upon auction completion up to $75) Body: No visible rust. Look at pictures showing clean floors, underneath, door jambs, etc.The ducktail paint is not as smooth as rest of car. Also, it could use to be fitted more precisely, I think it fine, a perfectionist would want to better align gaps. Grill is nice. Paint shows road rash. Paint has a nice shine, but look at the pics. It is not embarrassing at all, just shows its 30 years. Bumpers and bellows are good shape, no cracks. Smile is OK. Front spoiler is OK. Side trim and window rubber are good. No leaks from windshield or rear window. Wheels: Upgraded 7 and 8 inch Fuchs. Really nice shape. No deep pitting or gouges. Dunlop Direzza Summer Performance tires with lots of life left. Targa Top: Tight, rebuilt in 2003. Interior: Complete AC delete. Complete stereo and wiring delete with custom faux radio blanking plate. Complete alarm and wiring delete. Seats are nice, no rips. The carpet is faded. I use weathertech mats for daily use and remove them at the track, so some might think it needs mats. I made new doorpanels and decklid panels and covered in a retro-ish fabric to replace originals that had many speaker holes in them. Couple of small areas on decklid where the fabric was not glued down perfectly - no one notices but me. NEW dash was installed about 7 years ago and looks great. White face gauges installed by Hollywood Speedometer. Heater: Blows very hot. One hose is missing to connect blower to passenger side but does not seem to affect the level of heat in the car. Electrical: H4 headlights. However, the high beams don't work when ON, only when flashed. Low beams work fine. My shop, Storz, says it could use a new headlight switch, everything else is fine. Ignition switch does that cute 911 thing of not engaging the starter everytime. You just turn off and then back on. Has not gotten better or worse in my year of ownership. Has a battery cut off switch at the terminal. I use it everyday as my theft deterrent. Owner: This car was just written about in this months issue (#204) of 911 & Porsche World as part of my Guest Speaker column. I write for a few P-car magazines and wrote the novel Hunt for 901. I say this not to brag, but because I don't want to ruin my reputation by misrepresenting this car. Price: I originally wanted to get at least $11,500 but I want a quick sale so I can buy a new tow vehicle, a Cayenne. So, at the starting price and no reserve this is an absolute steal. Reliability: Started for me even when 0 degrees out. Would drive anywhere. Even cross-country. I know of nothing that would preclude the car from making the journey. Shipping: I will pick you up at Denver airport with a full tank of gas and a set of ear plugs if you wish to drive it home once payment clears. I will help get the car to a shipping company if you need that. Also, a couple people have asked if the body is as dinged up as I state in the article I wrote. No. It is not. The pictures speak for themselves. The car is nice. But not concours. Two with the Targa top off. Wonderful drive into work today with Targa off, 60 degree weather. Perfect. If you are looking at Targas and the top has not been rebuilt(as mine has) you could easily spend upwards of a $1,000 trying to get it fixed by Cars, inc here http://www.carsinc-nj.com/accessories_targatops.htmOn Apr-02-11 at 18:22:22 PDT, seller added the following information:I had to cancel a bid due to buyer who said they bid in error.
