Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for your consideration a very Rare 2002 E350 (One Ton) Ford Diesel Window Van. 7 Passenger Powered by a Navastar 7.3 Liter Diesel Engine. VIN 1FMNE31F22HA39569 What makes this Van unique are the additional Features installed that the factory left OUT.I will explain as we get into the description? Some history, I bought the Van from a FORD dealer in Ohio right across the street from Smucker’s preserves. It had about 27,000 miles on it. It had belonged to Ford Motor Company and was never titled. Ford had let one of its NASCAR drivers use it for a year. I drove it back to New Jersey. I wanted a diesel van to pull my 22 foot Airstream trailer. That did not last as long as I had wished, and then tried another Airsteam and that did not work out. It looks like my Trailer days are behind me. My decision is to sell the Van to someone who can appreciate a really great Truck. It has 104 000 miles, I run it every week end. (I work three days a week). The van is a Full size (138 inch wheel base) window unit with Privacy Glass windows all around. Captain’s Chairs for the driver (electric) and 3 passengers. A third row bench finishes out the rear area. All seats are Beige Leather covered and have no tears, rips or cracking. Fully carpeted with “Whether Tech” floor protectors front, middle and rear. The trim package is “TRAVELER” (a step above “Chateau” Package).Included in the package is a slew of goodies. The engine has a “PRELUBER”; consisting of an electric pump tied into the oil sump and is set to run before the engine is started. This means the engine NEVER turns over in DRY bearings. There is oil pressure BEFORE the engine starts. This engine has a Factory equipped Turbo, this runs from hot exhaust gases and helps with the fuel mileage and improves power output. After running at highway speeds for a while the Turbo gets pretty hot and spins very fast. So when you shut down the engine the Turbo is still spinning and the engine is NOT supplying oil to the Turbo bearing, but with the PRELUBER running , it is pumping oil for at least 6 (six) minutes after the engine has stopped running. A “BYPASS” oil filter system is installed, this keeps the oil clean for a long time. I have Laboratory reports showing the Oil’s condition after change. The coolant system has a FILTER that contains an additive that keeps the coolant at the correct PH level. The Transmission has an INLINE spin-on filter (PH-1) in the cooling line to the radiator. The transmission pan has been with a MAG-TECH and has a separate cooling pump and fan/heat exchanger under the passenger seat. I thought I would be towing a heavy trailer, it ended up being 6000 pounds and the Aux cooler came on for about 10 minutes running up a long hill in 100 o whether in August. Never came on again. Added gauges for: RPM, Engine Boost, Exhaust Gas Temperature, (mounted on a pillar) Oil Pressure, Transmission Temperature, and Engine Oil Temperature. The “SCAN-Gage on top of the dash comes from the ODP-2 connection and reads: Miles /Gallon, Gallon/Hour, Actual Battery volts. The gage reads four parameters at a time and can be changed at anytime. It can also directly read any Codes that are set. The FUEL filter that was factory installed was really hokey and hard to change, Sooo I installed an over the road tractor fuel filter. It is on the frame rail and has its own fuel lift pump as well as a 1 micron ½ gallon spin-on filter and a ½ gallon water separator. This filter has a heated coolant channel for heating the fuel going to the engine. The ELECTRCAL System. Unit is equipped with two (2) 750 AH batteries (both replaced about 3000 miles ago) they are wired in Parallel by the factory. I found that they do not always charge equally due to wire size being too light. So installed #2 wires (two zero) direct from terminal to terminal, less than a .1 volt loss. The Alternator has 18 separate diodes and they are remote from the alternator. No matter how much load you place on the system, the voltage will not dip below 14.2 volts. Both front and rear Air Conditioning units, all the lights on, an inverter hooked up for the kids PS2, the electric cooler and so on. Alternator output is better than 300 amps. All the additions that I had made were done using Relays Interface throughout the truck. As part of the “TRAVELER” package it has two 7 inch video displays in the overhead and a VCR Player in the middle row. This can play thru head phones or through the stereo system. The wipers have a HEATED Fluid Tank; it will provide hot water to melt the heaviest ice from your windshield. (140 oF) for about 20 seconds per shot. The Body is in great shape it does have some parking lot dings and some scoffs on the fender ridges. Paint is in great shape, no flaking or dull spots. The entire Front End has been replaced with Urethane Rubber as well as the Drag Lings Donuts. No drift on the steering. Tires (4) replace less than 2000 miles. They are great in wet slop and rain. Exhaust is 4 inch back from the Turbo, not loud. One complaint I had was when the unit was empty and you went over a bump or railroad track, the back end would bounce like a Bronco. I found these devices made by a company that makes shock products for industry called “LORD”. They marketed the “VELVET RIDE”, nothing more than a rubber bushing on the shackles of the rear leaf spring. Works great, no bounce. Replaced starter about 40000 miles, has a NAPA lifetime warranty. The CB is a Ham unit and puts out 50 watts on the 11 meter band as well as the 40 channels. A rear TV back-up camera comes on when in reverse. The van also includes a Heavy Duty overhead rack basket about 50 inches wide about 60 inches long and about 6 inches deep. The rear DIFFERENTIAL has a MAGNA-TEC cover that adds about 5 or 6 extra pints of gear oil to it. Over the time I have had this Van I changed some exterior things such as Grill, Rims, Headlamps, Corner Lamps and mirrors. I still have all the Original parts and they go with. One of the nicest features is when it is REALLY cold and crappy outside, is to light off the on-board DIESEL –POWERED FURNACE. This unit is used in Canada and is made by BOSCH. You set the timer for 5:30 in the morning and it will start the Furnace and pump the coolant throughout the engine and the heater to 170 oF. When you get in say 2 hours later it is toasty warm, start the Preluber, get oil pressure and roll the engine over as if it was summer. You stop for a short time, leave the furnace run. No need to idle the engine. I never let this unit idle; it does not do any good. She gets about 17 to 18 miles per gallon. Can get about 520 miles from a tank. Have ALWAYS used “Standyne” additive to fuel to keep the injectors healthy. I have a log of everything that ever went into her. Have a full set of Factory Manuals as well as documentation for the extras. There is no JOB that this Van can’t do. She has been good to me.
