Vehicle Detail
I have decided to sell my 1981 Austin Mini in full 98 MPI specs. I drove this car daily for over a year while I lived in Germany, and imported it back with me in January of this year. It has been fully registered in Oklahoma, and I have a clear OK title in my name. The car is German spec, meaning it is LHD and the odometer and speedometer is in Kilometers, not Miles, which just recently hit 100,000km, around 60,000 miles. I will buy a MPH cluster for the winning bidder if desired. The Mini is a blast to drive and gets up to speed just fine with the 1275 MPI engine. The 4 speed manual trans shifts smooth without any strange noises. This Mini has never let me down. Starts up fine every time. No A/C. I am only selling to fund my VTEC Mini project. I am not in a must sell situation, I will hold on to it if I have to and make it into a MK1 look a like when I get the time. Recent new parts installed: LCB and full exhaust, single pipe center exit52mm (+4mm) metal throttle body drilled and slotted front rotorsEBC green stuff front brake padsnew rear brakes, everything from backing plate to drumssteering column drop bracket installed4 spark plugs4 tires on 12" wheelsblack silicone hoses (not installed) The interior is the standard half leather with plaid inserts from a 98 Mini, in good shape. Light blue carpet with a hole near the passenger seat frame. Kenwood CD player with iPod hookup and 4 Kenwood speakers, 2 in the dash and 2 in the rear parcel tray. If you are into Minis, you know they came with rust from the factory. My Mini has a little here and there. The A panels have a little rust, the panel under the windshield has a little, as well as the area around the headlamps. The rear window openings are starting to show a little, as well as the rear valance panel. The rear valance is the only spot where there is cancer, and this is a very simple panel to replace. The driver's door had cancer, but a new bottom door section was put in. This area has not been resprayed. The passenger fender has a dent behind the headlamp ring, and the passenger door has a dent. The paint is decent. From 10 feet away it looks great. There are a few scratches, only one major one on the passenger fender, the rest are minor. I was planning on fixing the surface rust, replacing the rear valance and respraying it. I am being very honest with the condition of the car, but I recommend viewing it before bidding. The winning bid is a final price, not a starting price to haggle when you come out to pick up the car. I have driven the Mini 3-4 hours one way before, and would trust it doing the same today. Just remember, the suspension on a Mini is very stiff and it does not ride like a newer car. I am sure I have forgotten something, so feel free to send me an email. If you would prefer to talk over the phone, ask me for my number when you email me or send me your number. I would be able to deliver the car for a fee, but not until late May- early June. That is also when the winning bidder has to pick up the car by. I do require a $500 deposit within 48 hours via PayPal, and the rest with 14 days.
