1973 Corvette Stingray Project First, please be clear this auction is for a project Vette with a starting bid of $2,700, not a restored $27,000 version. Numbers matching 350 motor 400 transmission COLOR COMBINATION: Original is one of the best, deep Targa blue with black interior, still retained on inner doors, jams, etc OPTIONS: air conditioning, power steering and brakes, tilt/telescoping column CLEAR TITLE Car was last registered on the road in 1996. I have owned it six months and with many other project cars have too many. The car is complete except for a very few minor incidentals like the air filter. Things that have already been done to save time and money are: THE BODY, old paint has been stripped off, been sanded, needs some light finish filler and prime before repaint but has no major body damage issues. MOTOR AND TRANS, The numbers matching motor and trans were pulled out for inspection, found very rebuildable, then set in the car (for transport purposes) set up for easy removal and only needs to have trans crossmember unbolted to pull back out. THE GLASS, All glass in the car looks good, but drivers window guides will need attention. INTERIOR, Where most project C-3 Vette interiors consists of nothing but a steering wheel and a gutted out interior, in this car many of the expensive interior components appear to be reusable. PROJECT STATUS, Whereas, this car is original and mostly complete, except for incidentals like air filter, emblems, etc., this is a project that the buyer would need to replace many of the components. I have not had the car long enough to assess the full condition of the car's systems, such as electrical, brakes, etc. UNDERNEATH, The front frame and suspension look good. It has rust on the left side of frame that will need reinforcement or replacement that in the end would be a plus as this is adding support and done to the racing version.
