Here is a very straight driver quality 1963 Corvair Monza Spyder 4 speed convertible with original California black plates. It is a real Spyder based on having a "C" in group 3 of the ACC code, and the fact that is has a YR coded motor, working Spyder gauge cluster, Spyder glovebox, side emblems, rear Turbocharged emblem, all which appear original to the car. The Palomar red color(code 948) is the original color of the car. The car drives fine with working gauges, good clutch and smooth shifting transmission, and brakes fine with the standard brakes. It has a non functioning original AM radio, heater blower works fine, wipers are not working at this time(never needed here in San Diego!). Tires have good tread, but the rears do not have whitewalls like the front, so up to the new owner if they prefer whitewall or blackwall. The car is extremely straight and rust free on the outside body panels and the underside with the exception of a couple tiny bubbles in the paint in the passenger lower fender. You couldn't ask for a much straighter, rust-free car! The paint is best described as a 20 footer as there are many chips and scratches, with the worst being large checking and large paint chips on the front portion of the hood. There is no lower trim bezel in the rear of the car. The top was replaced recently, and will need the included front trim piece installed by an upholstery shop to complete the installation. The interior is in good condition with new carpet and door panels. The seats are in very good condition with just minor wear. The dash is good with some aging of the dash bezel and the steering wheel could use a repaint in red. The door panels are new and could use the factory plastic fasteners to hold them to the door better. Overall this is a very cool Corvair that will put a smile on your face and get you lots of attention!
