Up for bid is a rare seldom seen 1931 Chrysler CM6 Deluxe Rumble Seat Coupe from a very fine collection. This car has had an older ground up restoration some years ago and still presents well and is in excellent mechanical condition. First off this is an original car with the original engine and transmission and has the factory side mounts with mirrors, luggage rack, wire wheels, rear roll down window, clock mirror and ram hood ornament. Also everything under the hood such as carburetor, air cleaner and all related engine items are correct to the car. Mechanically this car runs out very strong and has had a recent tune up including cap & wires. This car being a Chrysler came with hydraulic brakes all around and a synchromesh transmission. This car shifts very well with no issues as new and the clutch is in great condition. The brakes are also in fine condition and have a high pedal and stop like a modern car. All the gauges work with the exception of the speedometer. The wide white wall tires are in great condition all around with plenty of rubber and the side mount spares have never been used. All the windows roll up & down easily and all the glass is perfect. The leather interior & leather rumble seat, are like new and thousands of dollars was spent on the inside & rumble seat alone and need nothing. They also had the shop make a custom fitted floor rug to go over the rugs in the car, (see photo). The roof panel is also like new and is excellent. All the chrome including the radiator shell, head lamps, cowl lamps, hub caps and bumpers are new like the day they were done. The windshield frame is also chrome but is showing a couple of blisters and the very bottom. The paint throughout the car still retains a good finish on both the body & fenders but do have a few issues that an older restoration will sometimes have, I will explain. The lighter cream color on the body has a couple of spots that, depending on the person should be done one day. The rumble lid as shown in the pictures has a couple of corners that have blistered and would be easier just to shoot the lid, also on the lower passenger door corner you will see in the picture a spot that lifted off as well as the top of the roof on the drivers side. The saving grace is that this is a very easy color to match and could be blown in without a big deal. Regarding the fenders there are a couple of scratches that either could be hand touched up or blown in and some blistering at the base of the fender near the running board on the drivers side. With this I would take the car to a paint supply and let them shoot the camera to the body & fender colors to get an exact mix then some of these issues could be touched by hand. This car has a great rich look to it and is low slung and looks like a smaller version of an L29 Cord in some ways and someone can really enjoy this car and get out on the open road with modern traffic with modern hydraulic brakes, synchromesh transmission and a strong 6 cylinder for less than the price of a good Ford Model A sedan.
