At Auction a low mileage 1988 Jaguar XJS convertable project or parts car. I bought this car about two years ago with the intent of restoring it or putting a small block chevy in place if the Jaguar fuel injected V-12. As you can see the small block and short shaft TH 400 is sitting in the car and will be avaialbe to the purchaser at additional cost. The car is being sold as either a project or more preferably as a donor car/parts car. This car originated in florida and spent much of its life there from what I can see. At 64k miles it is very solid front to rear however the interior shows sun damage. As far as I know the car has some great hot rod parts potential. It has independant rear suspension as well as all of the front suspension intact. From what I can see and I have been up and dopwn all over this car is has never been wrecked. Its big problem is that it suffered a small engine fire originating near the drivers side firewall. It is not bad enough that this car originally came wiht Lucas electrics but from what I have read even those have been modified for the convertable conversion. Yes it is a veritable electronic nightmare of which I do not wish to tackle. The car and its metal components are in very good condition it has high end aluminum wheels with a lot of tread left on the tires. I do not have a title as I bought the car from a salvage yard with only a bill of sale. I did have the VIN checked out and the car is not stolen to my knowlege. It is just a beutiful piece of British (1988) touring auto which has come to an untimely end unless you wish to take time to restore it. My buy it now price is less thatn the parts on the car. However my other car need the room in the garage and I have lost interest in this one. I will gladly provide any additional information I have about the car. The original engine and transmission are in my barn. They are not part of this auction. The small blaock will be removed before this auction ends. I wlll leave the TH 400 (chevy) in the chassis it is connected from the bell housing back. Good luck and happy bidding!
