Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1946 International Harvester pickup. The truck started life as a 3/4 ton long bed farm truck on the central coast of California. Within the past several years the truck has undergone a significant amount of work to transform it into the truck you see today. First the truck was completely disassembled to a bare frame where several inches were cut out to match the wheelbase of a short bed. Also both front and rear of the frame have been "Z'd" approxmiately 6 1/2" to give it a lowered stance. The bed was shortened and channeled and front clip was channeled to match. The original flathead 6 cylinder was removed in favor of a torquey Ford 400M that has been bored 0.030" over to make it into a 406ci. An Edlebrock Performer intake manifold was added as well as a Summit Racing SUM-K5200 cam and lifter set, a Holley 625cfm carb, and remanufactured cylinder heads. Exhaust exits through modified headers and glass pack mufflers. The current motor set up all has less than 1000 miles on it. The gas is held in a Summit Racing fuel cell and lit off by an MSD Blaster 2 coil. A converted 1 wire alternator was added to keep the battery charged. A TCI Saturday Night Special torque converter was added to the Ford C6 automatic transmission as well as a B&M ratchet shifter to help get power to the ground. The International's original 2 speed rear end was swapped out in favor of a Chevy 10 bolt with custom drive shaft. Keeping the engine cool is an aluminum radiator and electric fan; here on the California coast the truck likes to run right around 190 degrees. The hood has been louvered to help keep the heat out from under the hood. Brand new windshield glass has just been installed into the pop out windshield frame that cranks out with ease. New carpet has been layed down and the bench seat is wrapped in a traditional Mexican blanket. New bias ply wide white wall tires from Coker have less than 200 miles on them. There is some rust at the bottom of the passenger side fender, left beside (where a spare tire used to be mounted), and where the front fender meet the grille. It's nothing that can't be repaired, I just always felt it gave the truck a little character and patina. This International is a solid start to a sharp looking, old school hot rod truck. You don't see many of these on the road today let alone one that will smoke the tires through all three gears when you put your foot into it. Truck is currently titled and registered in California. Any questions, please ask before end of auction. Buyer responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs. Located near San Luis Obispo, CA.
