This is a 66 Fairlane 500. It came from the factory as an automatic but was converted to a 4 speed at some point. It also has a 9 inch rear, and a fiberglass hood that bolts to the factory hinges. The four speed shifter is a racing inline shifter with a reverse lockout lever. The 9" does not appear to be a trac loc, but I will check in to that further. . I haven't tried to start the motor, but it spins. I bought the car from the owners son. He said his dad was racing this car at the westhampton drag strip at one point. The car was restored at one point, lower 1/2 quarters were put on. But the car sat for a long time after that, so there is rust in the floors, outer wheel wells, trunk extensions.... It could be restored, but it needs a fair amount of work. But this car has a lot of good parts. I have the transferable 66 NY title/registration for it. It's been off the road since 2002. If it doesn't sell I will probably be parting it out, so keep my ebay seller id in mind. These parts could be used on another Fairlane, Comet, Ranchero, or 66/70 Falcon. The 66/70 falcon is the same chassis as a Fairlane only a little shorter. If you look at the 66 Ranchero it had a Falcon hood/fenders, in 67 Ford switched to the Fairlane hood/fenders. The rest of the car stayed the same. The rear is the same width as a 67/70 mustang but the perches would have to be moved. The four speed tailshaft would have to also be changed to put in a Mustang.
