Up for auction is this 1959 MGA. I acquired this car through a friend who has had it in storage for many years. My intent was to restore it but do to new developments in my life I am selling it. Before purchasing the car I did research on problem areas with these autos determined that this would be a great candidate for restoration. As the pics show there is some rust on the frame where it meets the floor and in the trunk, but for the most part the car is very solid. I purchased it last fall and put it into storage. The engine is free and I was told that it ran when he parked it (I know.. everyone always says this) I removed the spark plugs and put a little marvel mystery oil in each cylinder to keep the motor happy. I also checked the cooling system for leaks and upon pushing fluid through it checked out clean. The brake pads are removed and each wheel needs to be rebuilt. the front bumper is aluminum and is split in the middle. The car does not have a top only a tonneau cover (not sure that it ever did?) It is also missing the small metal plate behind the seats that shields the battery. The original color was blue and it would be great to see it that way again.
