Vehicle Detail
This is a 1959 Studebaker Lark that was our family car for many years. It is light blue in color, with a v8 engine (unusual for that model year). I had planned on restoring it but after a few years of letting it sit have decided not to take the time to do so. Exterior: There is no body damage. The paint is mostly oxidized and there are rust spots. Except possibly under the front fender behind the wheel, the rust has not eaten through the body or caused damage, so the car can easily be sanded and repainted. Both taillights are broken, one side mirror is missing, and the glass is missing out of the other side mirror. The radio antenna is brokenThe door handle is frozen on one back door and the drivers door latch might need some work because it does not close tightly. The rubber seals for the doors and trunk need to be replaced, and I already have a new set of rubbers for the trunk that will go with the car. The tires will need replacing but all of the hubcaps are present and in good shape. Interior: There are no additions or changes to the original interior. The panels are peeling and the seats are shredding and have holes. The original radio was stolen a number of years ago, leaving a blank hole in the dash. There are no seatbelts and it will need extensive cleaning, but the carpet is in good shape. Engine: It was driven for 5 or 10 years, then driven onto some property and left for another ten or fifteen years. I got it running a few years ago to move it, but recently was not able to start it. It has new spark plugs and a new fuel filter. One of the metal fan blades broke, throwing the car off balance, so I took it off and put the belt back on without a fan until I could find another. Once started, it runs great and has plenty of power. Also, the automatic transmission leaks, and the parking brake does not work.
